You mean to tell me the girl whose death was the emotional backbone of the ENTIRE ORIGINAL TRILOGY…wasn’t actually dead? At some point, plot twists stop being clever and start feeling like the author is spinning a Wheel of Drama.

Sure. Why not? Throw in aliens while we’re here. The saddest part is that this doesn’t even feel like it’s set in the same universe anymore. The original books were clever because the stakes were personal. Family secrets. Manipulation. Puzzles. Relationships. Every reveal felt connected. This? It feels like someone accidentally merged The Inheritance Games with an action movie and hoped nobody would notice.
And then there’s Grayson. Justice for my man‼️‼️
I don’t even have anything funny to say. He was simply done dirty, and I refuse to elaborate because I’m still grieving the character assassination. The only people keeping me from giving this book the “I wish I could unread it” award were Rohan, Savannah, and Gigi.
Rohan & Savannah = the emotional support couple.
Gigi = the only person consistently bringing me joy.
Everyone else? I’m exhausted.
This series had a perfect ending with The Final Gambit. It didn’t need a sequel series. Not every successful trilogy has to become a cinematic universe. Sometimes it’s okay to let a story end.
Instead, we got:

Book 2: “Let’s solve more riddles.”
Book 3: “The perfect conclusion.”
TGG series: “SURPRISE! THERE’S A SECRET ASSASSIN CULT.” I’m tired. My suspension of disbelief has filed for divorce. 🙂🙃
