Massssksā¦so many masks!! Like many things, I need to get waaaay better about posting WIP and process pics >3> Iāve made several dozen masks so far. I usually āassembly lineā when making things in bulk, but for these masks, Iām generally making one at a time since Iām tweaking *something* on almost every maskāto try to make them as effective as I can. I was reading this in NY times about Sioux Falls, SD.
Ā South Dakota has the highest hospitalization rate in the country, with about 42 of every 100,000 South Dakotans hospitalized with Covid-19, according to the Covid Tracking Project. Still, the state has no mask mandate, and on Tuesday night, Mayor Paul TenHaken of Sioux Falls cast the tiebreaking vote to strike down a citywide mask mandate, which he has called āsimply unenforceable.āĀ
Mayor Paul TenHaken has given up.Ā One ABSOLUTELY cannot enforce a mandate if it doesnāt exist.
But in San Francisco our Mayor London Breed actually led.Ā She did by setting a mandate immediately.Ā Asking people to follow the mandate.Ā And then she had park rangers and other community leaders hand out masks at parks while explaining why they are important.
SHE ALSO WENT OUT and handed out masks.Ā Ā
Meanwhiles she asked that civilians donāt police masking.Ā Which, at the time, didnāt make sense but does now.
It boggles my mindĀ - theseĀ āleadersā who give up.Ā Can you imagine them during WWII?Ā After Pearl Harbor?Ā They would have thrown their hands up in the air and just given up.
These are not leaders.Ā These are - I guess - spineless people who donāt care about their communities.
