March 3d’s theme is #resistance, and if I’m all about political resistance, my @bostonteapartyships alter ego Mary “Polly” Winegar Young is equally so! Married to freethinking Deist and Son of Liberty Dr. Thomas Young, I portray her as being as passionate about the fight for representation as her husband, and every bit as eager to resist tyranny. My own desire for social justice is certainly present in my interpretation of her. The first image is of me as Mrs. Young and my friend @kissingtheshoreline as Mrs. Abigail May, doing a presentation on Liberty Teas - the herbal teas that many used to replace the imported tea of the United East India Company during the boycott of imported tea. And I must note that while I look down on Washington for being a slaveholder, the above quote from his letter to the Jews of Newport, RI in 1790, has always meant a lot to me as a Jewish person.
