Maria's gaze passes over the sensational article about undead corpses in the alarmed lawyer's grasp before settling on his flushed face. She bluntly answers: "No."
For a split second, the tension leaves his body, and relief flickers in his eyes. However, unwilling to let go of his attention, the coroner leans in to indulge his fearful imagination with her expert knowledge of the dead: "But if they were..."
Her lips quirk up ever so slightly as she catches what she first mistook for plain fear but now recognizes as excitement shining in his wide, dark eyes.
