Tbh the jealousy trope isnāt one I usually get into? Or at least not the way itās usually written (big bad boyfriend is jealous and possessive of tiny cute girlfriend and itās played off as being hot meanwhile Iām over here likeĀ āgirl... run. Heās going to eventually murder youā)
HOWEVER. Listen. I can totally see it working with Ancel/Berenger. Like- I can easily see Ancel being that sort of a petty bitch, meanwhile Berenger is totally oblivious.
Like, at some point post canon, when Berenger is a big shot and has a seat at Laurentās Council. Obviously Ancelās with him and he probably has the best jewels of anyone at court and all the other pets are likeĀ āOH?????ā And some other pet tries to seduce oblivious!Berenger at a feast and Ancel storms over there likeĀ āHell NOā and just makes out with him in front of everyone and drags him off to bed.
Maybe by this point theyāve already declared their love for each other, so Ancel knows Berenger isnāt actually going to run off with anyone else. But he wants to show everyone that Berenger is his anyway, just to be a petty asshole XD
