"Don't let them find us."
Blue eyes turned to the smaller girl, looking at her observing the scene in front of them. How had they ended up in this mess?
Of course, it was all because of another screw-up with the estimations on how many people would be needed on the mission. since they assumed it was going to be relatively easy to get, they probably assumed two or three finders and an Exorcist was okay. Despite that, however, it turned for the worst, and more Akuma were there than prior thoughts showed.
Ethan hissed at the girl, scanning the ruin that had occurred only moments ago. “Shut up. They have to be here somewhere, right? Where would they be hiding? Shouldn’t they be chasing you around or something?” He questioned, turning towards her.
His eyes scanned down to her hands, hoping that she had managed to grab the Innocence. When he didn’t see anything, he felt his heart plunder into the depths of dismay. She didn’t have it in her hands…
His head snapped in the direction they had ran from, and he saw the glittering piece, sitting harmlessly on the floor. Shit.
“How could you have dropped that?” He whispered, enraged. “You call yourself an Exorcist, yet you dropped it, right there!” He continued berating the other, despite knowing it was partially his own doing, as well.
At that second, a noise almost unheard resounded through the area. Ethan froze, not moving to look up, nor to look towards any side.
It was already known what was there, there was no doubt anymore. the two of them had to move, and start running again. At least he did.
He hoped the other could take care of just one Akuma. In that mean-time, Ethan would run and grab the Innocence, and hope that he wasn’t shot to death.
