I just cried like a baby (again) at the Life is Strange ending, and yes, I sacrificed Chloe. It’s for the greater good, I love Chloe and Max, I love their relationship. I loved that they would go to the ends of the Earth for each other, literally rip apart the fabric of time and space for each other. I care and love Max and Chloe so much that making the decision is so hard but I always think about afterwards. Life is never just about now. Unfortunately, it’s Chloe’s fate to die, her fate was made the first time Nathan pulled the trigger, there were going to be factors that would try to kill her at every chance if you don’t sacrifice her when you have the option. I would rather Chloe be sacrificed when she is willing to be rather than Chloe spending the rest of time trying to avoid the inevitable. Also, what about everybody else? Mark Jefferson? He was an evil man, psychotic. He doesn’t deserve a cowards way out, dying in a storm instead of going to prison for his dire crimes. (This is also why I didn’t let David kill him.) I’m not going to say ‘Sacrifice Arcadia Bay’ is the selfish ending and if you truly only believe in that ending then so be it, it’s your choice after all. Some people genuinely love Max and Chloe enough and want them to go on to ‘rule the world together’, and that’s okay. I wish it was just that simple for them, but we know that it isn’t. This is just my outlook on the end of the game and every time I’ve played this game regardless, I’ve sacrificed Chloe. It’s incredibly upsetting and I do get upset when I watch it unfold, but I believe it’s the right one.
