Ooo can I please request a Jefferson x adopted daughter where a 11 year old girl ends (who is not a storybook character) up in Storybrook, and now that she’s there, for some reason it won’t let her leave so she stuck, and maybe at this point the curse has been broken so everyone has their memories for a while so when of the characters recognize her and they all know that she is not in the storybook so it has them all on edge and maybe they even question her which freaks her out and she has no close what’s happening. Maybe Grace runs into her and feels really bad seeing her so scared and crying, and being basically interrogated, and asks if she wants to come to her house and she takes her over there. Y/n is still really freaked out but Grace is so welcoming and sweet, and Jefferson at first is unsure having a stranger in their house but he ends up letting her stay after seeing how scared she is. And Jefferson adopts her after a while! It takes her a bit to open up to Jefferson and she at first doesn’t believe them that storybook characters are real and that he’s the mad hatter. The Charmings feel really bad about scaring her invite Jefferson, Grace, and Y/n over for dinner and game night and she calls Jefferson Dad for the first time when they’re over there 🥺

You don’t know how you ended up in Storybrooke when the curse was broken. You tried leaving, but for some reason, you can’t. You’re so confused that you don’t know what to do. You wandered around Storybrooke trying to figure how to leave. That’s when the story book characters began to recognize you. They don’t know who you are. They just stared you don’t as you walked through Storybrooke. You stopped in your tracks, taking a look around at everyone. You were confused as to why they were staring at you. That’s when they surrounded you, which freaked you out. They questioned you too.
“Who are you?”
“Where did you come from?”
“How did you get here?”
“Why are you here?”
The more they questioned you, the more you got freaked out. You tried to answer them. You really did, but your words came out as stammers. You were so freaked out that you began to cry. You pushed through the crowd of the story book characters who were surrounding you and started running. You had no idea where you were going. You just kept running. You looked over your shoulder to see if anyone was chasing after you and then you accidentally ran into someone. Literally. You and the person- Grace fell to the ground, both of you made an “oof” sound as you two fell to the ground. Both of you sat up. Grace got a good look at you. She can tell that you’re obviously upset about something and you didn’t mean to run into her. She stood up and helped you up as well.
“I’m Grace.” Grace introduces herself.
“I’m Y/N.” You introduced yourself.
“Why are you crying?” She asks.
“I’m scared, because I don’t know where I am.” You tell her.
“You can come home with me.” She says.
“Are you sure?” You asked.
“Yes.” She says.
Grace is the most welcoming person you met since you got here. That made you feel a little bit better, but you’re still confused about where you are. When you and Grace got to hers and Jefferson’s house, Jefferson greeted her at the door and he was wondering why Grace brought a stranger home with her, which made him feel unsure.
“Who did you bring home with you?” Jefferson asks.
His question didn’t come off interrogating like the other story book characters. His question was filled with curiosity.
“She accidentally ran into me and I saw that she’s scared and crying so I brought her home with me to make her feel better.” Grace explains.
“That’s very sweet of Grace, but you can’t just bring strangers home.” He says.
A new wave of tears filled your eyes when he said that.
“Is it because I’m not from here?” You asked.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to sound like that. I was just wondering why Grace brought a stranger home with her is all.” Jefferson says.
“Oh ok.” You say.
Jefferson can sense the sadness in your voice.
“What’s your name?” He asks.
“Y/N.” You tell him and Grace.
“It’s nice to meet you. I’m Jefferson.” He introduces himself.
“I’m Grace.” Grace introduces herself.
“How about we go to the living room and talk everything out? Ok?” He says.
“Ok.” You say.
You, Jefferson, and Grace went to the living room to talk. You told them everything, starting with you don’t know how you got there and you don’t know where you are.
“You don’t know where you are?” Jefferson asks.
“No. I’ve been trying to figure that out since I got here.” You say.
“You’re in Storybrooke, Maine.” Grace tells you.
“Storybrooke, Maine.” You say more to yourself.
Now that you know where you are, you felt yourself beginning to calm down a bit, but it wasn’t enough. You still don’t know how you got there.
“Do you know how you got here?” Jefferson asks.
“No. I saw a bright flash of light and then I somehow ended up here. I don’t know how it happened and I don’t know what to do now.” You say.
A new wave of tears filled your eyes. You began to get even more scared than you already are.
“I have nowhere to go.” You say, your voice cracking.
“You can stay with us.” Grace says sweetly and immediately. “Can she, papa?” She asks.
Even though Jefferson was unsure about having a stranger in the house at first, he looks at you. Like really looks at you. He takes in your scared state and teary eyes. He can’t tell you to leave. That would be wrong and horrible of him to do. You’re just a scared kid. You need somewhere to stay and someone to take care of you. That’s not just the fatherly side of him thinking that, it’s also him thinking that.
“You can stay with us.” Jefferson says.
“I can?” You asked.
“Of course you can.” He smiles.
You felt a sense of relief wash over you. You felt yourself beginning to calm down a little bit more. Jefferson got the guest bedroom ready for you while you hung out with Grace.
“You’re going to love it here! My papa is the best!” Grace says.
“He looks and sounds like a nice person.” You say.
“He is!” She smiles.
That night, after you got ready for bed, Jefferson checked on you to see how you’re settling in so far.
“I just wanted to see how you’re settling in so far.” Jefferson says.
“I’m doing better than I was when I got here.” You say.
“Good. That’s good. Let me know if you need anything.” He says.
“Ok.” You say.
“Goodnight.” He says.
“Goodnight.” You say.
Everything got off to a rocky start for you in Storybrooke, but ever since you met Grace and Jefferson, it’s began to get better for you.
———
You’ve been staying with Jefferson and Grace for a while now and everything is better compared to how it was when you first got here. Jefferson treats you like a daughter and Grace sees you as a sister. At first, you didn’t believe that they are story book characters. So, Grace borrowed Henry’s story book and explained everything to you.
“Wait. Your dad is actually the Mad Hatter?” You asked.
“Yes.” Grace answers.
She also told you about the rest of the story book characters. When she got to Snow and Charming, something about them seemed familiar. You thought back to the day you somehow ended up in Storybrooke. That’s when it hit you. Snow and Charming are two of the story book characters who questioned you when you first got there.
“I remember them.” You say, pointing at a picture of Snow and Charming.
“Do you know them?” Grace asks.
“No. They questioned me when I first got here. That’s why I was scared and crying when I ran into you that day.” You say.
Jefferson was in the entrance of the living room when you told Grace that. His heart broke for you. He wondered why everyone would question an innocent child. You didn’t do anything wrong. You were just scared and confused at the time. There was no reason for any of them to act that way towards you. He put that thought aside just for now, because he has a surprise for you.
“Hi, girls.” Jefferson says as he enters the living room.
“Hi!” You and Grace smiled.
“Can you two set the book aside for a moment? I have a surprise for Y/N.” He says.
Grace sets the book aside. You were wondering what the surprise is.
“What is it?” You curiously asked.
“Before I give it to you, I just wanted to say that Grace and I love you staying here with us. When she brought you home that day, you were just a scared kid who needed someone to take care of you, which is why I’m giving this to you.” He says, handing you an envelope.
You opened the envelope and took the papers out of it. You read the papers word for word. That’s when you came across the word adopt. Your eyes filled up with tears when you read it.
“You want to adopt me?” You asked.
“Of course I do. You need someone to take care of you and I’ll be that person for you. I hope that’s ok with you.” Jefferson says softly.
“It’s more than ok.” You say, smiling widely.
That’s the first time you smiled since you got there. It made Jefferson and Grace happy to see.
“What do you say?” He asks.
“Yes, you can adopt me!” You say.
You gave him a hug. Grace joined the hug too.
“Does this mean I have a sister now?” Grace asks.
“Yes.” Jefferson answers. “How do you feel about that?” He asks.
“I love it!” She answers and smiles.
Grace already saw you as a sister and Jefferson adopting you makes it even better, because it’s real. Not only are you happy that you just got adopted by Jefferson, you’re happy to have a family. That’s all Jefferson wanted for you since Grace brought you home that day.
One evening, the Charmings invited you, Grace, and Jefferson over for dinner. You weren’t sure about it because of the first time you saw them when you got questioned by the story book characters when you first got there. You were scared about what could possibly happen when you see them again. You were ready, but at the same time, you weren’t. You were sitting on your bed, thinking of the possible interaction you’re going to have with the Charmings for a second time. Jefferson came into your bedroom to ask if you’re ready to go, but he could tell that you had something on your mind just by looking at you.
“Are you ok, sweetie?” Jefferson asks, sitting down next to you.
“No.” You say.
“What’s wrong?” He asks softly.
“I’m nervous about seeing the Charmings again. The first interaction I had with them was when I first ended up here. They questioned me, scared me, and made me cry.” You tell him.
“You don’t have anything to worry about. I’ll be there the whole time and so will Grace. If anything happens, I’ll protect from anything they might say.” He says softly.
“Really?” You asked.
“Of course. You’re my daughter. I’m always going to protect you and Grace from any kind of danger there is.” He says.
You smiled and hugged him.
“Let’s get going.” He says.
“Ok.” You say.
Even though your nerves aren’t through the roof like they were before you, Grace, and Jefferson left for dinner at the Charmings, you’re still a little bit nervous. You know that Jefferson will protect you if anything goes wrong.
“Everything is going to be ok.” Jefferson says softly, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder.
You gave him a smile and a nod. Grace knocked on the door of the Charmings and they answered the door together. Your nerves really set in when you saw them for a second time. They immediately recognized you. They stepped aside, allowing the three of you to come inside. Since they already know who Jefferson and Grace is, Jefferson introduced them to you.
“This is my new daughter Y/N.” Jefferson tells them.
Snow and Charming introduced themselves to you. You gave them a small smile and stayed close to Jefferson.
“We would like to apologize for the way we acted towards you the day we first saw you.” Snow says.
“You guys scared me and made me cry.” You say.
“We’re so sorry about that. We didn’t mean to act that way towards you.” Charming says.
“Can you ever forgive us?” Snow asks.
You looked up at Jefferson before answering them.
“That’s up to you, sweetie.” Jefferson says, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder.
You looked back at the Charmings.
“I forgive you guys.” You say.
Not only were the Charmings happy to hear that, Jefferson and Grace were too. During dinner, the Charmings got to know you. Grace suggested that all of you play games after dinner, which all of you thought was a great idea. You guys played classic board games.
“I won! Dad, did you see that?!” You exclaimed excitedly.
“Yes, I did.” Jefferson says.
A smile grew on Jefferson face. That was the first time you’ve ever called him dad. It made him happy to hear.
Later, you, Jefferson, and Grace went home. Normally, you and Grace have a bedtime routine, but Jefferson to let you two stay up a little bit later since all of you had a good time tonight.
“You called papa dad tonight.” Grace points out.
“Oh yea. I did.” You say.
You were so caught up in the excitement of playing games earlier that you didn’t even realize that you called him dad.
“That’s ok, right?” You asked to be sure.
“Of course it is. I’m your dad now.” Jefferson says.
You smiled and gave him a hug.
“I love you, dad.” You say.
“I love you too, sweetheart.” He says softly.
“I love you guys too!” Grace chimes in, joining the hug, which made you guys smile.
Your start in Storybrooke may have been rocky, but you eventually got used to it there, especially with help from Jefferson and Grace. You’re so happy that he adopted you. That’s something you’re never going to take for granted.
