6. "I Choose You" by Sara Bareilles
Who the fuck writes these songs?
I don't know what it is about Sara Bareilles recently but after I gave "Brave" as high a feature as I could (mostly to spite "Roar" to be honest) last year I wasn't sure what it was.
So I decided to take a peak at Mark Endert--the guy who produced this song.
On a related note, this is also the year I got into songwriters. Mostly because of fucking Max Martin's apparent appearance on "It's My Life" from the pre-2009 list.
Did you know Max Martin wrote a bunch of songs I liked?
Cause I didn't.
I already knew Ryan Tedder was a big songwriter for other people so that helped my love for OneRepublic grow.
Oh there's also Dr. Luke but fuck him.
But while Mark Endert didn't write this glorious song about love and lesbians (apparently), it was actually Sara's sentiment to how much you can tell she really cares about this and the person she chooses.
It's essentially the same reason I like Vanessa, albeit on guitar this time, not piano, which Sara also can play.
Speaking of Vanessa, apparently she has an album coming out next year.

Zo heel lang geleden lijkt het eigenlijk niet, maar het nummer 'Over My Head' is uitgekomen in 2005. Het album waarvan het nummer afkomstig van is, namelijk 'How To Save A Life', is geproduceerd door Mark Endert. Deze producer heeft nog vele andere succesvolle albums op zijn naam staan, waaronder natuurlijk 'Chariot' van Gavin.Â
