So this instrument - the Bazantar - was custom designed by this musician, Mark Deutsch who wanted to make a low/deep-sounding resonating/sympathetic stringed instrument in the spirit of Indian classical music, like a sitar. He just plays for quite a while at the beginning of this clip (and it’s doggone beautiful stuff!) but most of the rest of the video is him explaining how he made it and WHY he made it. He does play again at the end for a bit. Sadly, I haven’t been able to find a whole lot of other videos of him just playing - more videos of him explaining the instrument to people.
Well I certainly love it - those ultra low notes soothe the hamster wheel of my brain.
