Prologue Chapter 1
Chapter 2: Welcome to Wonderland
.✦ ݁˖Warnings: No soul.✦ ݁˖
For Ciel, watching the red-headed boy chase the strange cat around was quite humorous. Ciel was more surprised that he could run in heels like those. Of course, Ciel has run in his shoes before while solving cases, but never shoes that high. Ciel snaps out of his gaze when he hears a sharp yell. That yell makes him jolt; it reminds him of his cousin Edward.
Off With Your Head!
After that yell, Riddle had let out a blast of magic through his pen. A heart-shaped collar forms around the cat. Ciel's eyes widen; he’s never seen such magic before. The cat gets knocked back right into Ciel, causing him to fall over. He’s been against grim reapers, demons, the undead, “witches,” and demons. ‘MYAH?! What are you-?!?” Before the cat could even finish his sentence. Riddle speaks up. Ciel noticed how his face turned red.
“The Queen of Hearts' Rule 23: "One must never bring a cat to a formal affair." Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate these premises immediately.” Riddle yells. Ciel wondered if they also had a queen here. Ciel feels a little intimidated by how Riddle speaks, but chooses to stay out of the conversation.
Grim hisses at Riddle after the collar completely forms around his neck. “I ain't a cat either! Don't try to collar me! I'll burn it right off! Huh...? Wh-what gives? My fire ain't workin’!” Looking down at the cat and up at Riddle, Ciel was perplexed. He never knew magic could exist, and he never thought animals could talk. Looking back at Riddle, Ciel sees a smirk that looks almost exactly like his. Riddle says in a smug tone, “Until I decide to remove that collar, you won't be using any magic. You're nothing but a house cat now.”
Grim looks surprised, more or less flabbergasted. “WHAT?!?! I ain’t no one's pet-NOTHING!!” Grim says loudly in a high-pitched tone. Riddle backs up his comment by saying, “The collar will disappear once you're removed from campus.” Soon after Riddle finishes speaking, a sharper voice speaks up after a laugh. “Good show as always, Riddle. “Your magic is quite handy. I've just GOT to get my hands on it—ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it.” Says the light blue-ish gray-haired boy.
Ciel notices the man coughed before he changed his sentence. He also noticed Riddle rolled his eyes at him, and the lionman grumbled when the guy spoke. “Spoken like a true conman,” Ciel thought. However, he wondered how one could steal magic. While Ciel is deep in thought, he hears Sebastian cough. Looking up, he sees Crowley coming over.
“I shall have this weasel expelled from campus. I shall even spare it from being served as dinner.
My, but I AM kind. ...Someone take this away, please.”
“Dinner?!? People eat cats here?!” Ciel thought with a shocked face. Watching as the cat is taken out of the room by two older students. He can still hear the cat whining as it's carried out. “You'd better remember my name! Cause I'm gonna go down in the books! Just you wait!” Grim screams before the door closes again. Ciel wonders why anyone would want to go to a school like this.
“Well, that was quite unexpected. I now declare that orientation has concluded! Housewardens, take your students to their respective dorms! Wait.. where is Housewarden Draconia?” Crowley says, looking around.
The housewardens all look around until the lion-eared man says. “Dude's a total recluse. I dont think he would've shown up even if you asked.”
The white-haired boy looks around and asks, “Wait a sec... Did anyone even invite him?” Ciel thought he was just like Soma. “If those two met, I feel like the sun might shine brighter.” He thought.
The lion snaps back at the boy, “If you're that worried about him missing out, you should have told him yourself.”
“These people sure dont get along well… it's not surprising though..” Ciel thought of Westin College and the cricket tournament.
“I should've..But I don't know him too well either…” says the white-haired boy. Ciel hears different students murmur about housewarden Draconia. Is everyone that wary of one guy? How powerful could he be? Ciel thinks to himself.
The doors to the room open once more, and a young boy with pink and black hair walks in. Ciel thought to himself, “Do they really allow kids here?” Until he heard the boy's deep voice.
“Ah. Just as I'd expected, I wondered if Malleus had made an appearance. But once again, he was not informed that his presence was required. Oh well..I just hope he doesn't sulk about this.”
“A voice like that came from someone like that?!” Ciel wondered, looking astonished.
As all the housewardens and the boy with pink and black hair leave Crowley, he soon turns back to face Ciel, who is standing next to Sebastian. “Well, Mr.Phantomhive, we did learn you might be able to do magic, but I do have to ask how old you are.”
“I'm fourteen, sir..” Ciel says, half mumbling.
“Oh goodness! A child that young ends up at this school! You have to be some prodigy! But alas, I'm afraid that you will not be attending Night Raven College after all. Surely you realize that I cannot very well admit a student that age into my academy! Do not fret, child! The Dark Mirror will see you home!” Crowley says with enthusiasm, Ciel could not understand.
“Yes, sir,” Ciel says. As Ciel steps up to the mirror crowley tells him to envision his homeland. Ciel thinks back to England, with his manor, servants, and his name as Phantomhive. “O Dark Mirror! Return this soul to where it belongs!” Crowley says loudly. Only to be met with silence. He coughs and tries again, but before he can, the mirror interjects. “There is no such place,” says the mirror.
Crowley steps forward while Ciel steps back and looks towards Sebastian, who only shrugs. “It seems as if Sebastian has tried to get home too.” Ciel thinks to himself.
The Dark Mirror repeats itself by saying, “There is no place in this world where this soul belongs. None.”
“This has never happened throughout my long tenure. I must confess that I am at something of a loss.” Crowley mumbles to himself before turning to Ciel. What land do you come from?”
“I'm from London, England,” Ciel states. Crowley tilts his head before saying, “I am not familiar with such a place. I am acquainted with the origins of every student who has ever come here, and yet...Let us go to the library and look it up, shall we?”
Ciel nods and follows him while Sebastian walks next to Crowley, discussing their next move. “Just great, I'm stuck in some random land with no way to get home…” Ciel thinks bitterly.
