These 3 Death Eagle space marines by Mark Copplestone were, to my knowledge, the first ever models released that were named for a specific loyalist chapter for Rogue Trader 40K* (pictured from White Dwarf 112, April 1989).  Each has prominent sculpted eagle motifs.  All other chapters, and the other members of any full Death Eagle squads, used generic space marine models distinguished only by their paint schemes unless their owners added unique conversions themselves. Since the 2000â˛s the canonical Death Eagle livery has been black armor with a winged white bird skull logo.
[*The previously released seated figure of an âImperial Commanderâ was only later officially renamed âLord Macragge (Ultramarine Commander)â so I consider the Death Eagles the first figures released under a specific chapter name.]
