What's your opinion on the "Daniil is ooc in Patho 3" debate? Personally, he felt like the same character I fell in love with in Classic.
i agree. i genuinely don't know where the idea that he's out of character in patho 3 comes from, and i haven't seen many posts that expand on what people mean when they say this. i've seen the argument that he's out of character because he can flirt with women, but he can also do this in classic, and it's such an unimportant aspect of the plot to begin with that i kind of fail to see what it has to do with anything. i've also seen people claim that daniil wouldn't be suicidal, which tells me that they haven't been paying attention at all.
if i had to venture a guess, i'd say it's due to the games being spread so far apart, people have been living on fanon and forgotten what daniil is actually like. of course, if we're being completely honest, people don't seem to ever have had a decent grasp on daniil's characterization, so...

1. The character everyone gets wrong
In RWBY- Ozpin tbh. I've seen VASTLY different takes on Oz, everything from "Ozpin has done nothing wrong" (incorrect, a big part of his character is that he HAS made mistakes) to "Ozpin is a zealot and a Light cultist and abused Salem", and honestly both sides drive me up a WALL, the latter moreso than the former. People sometimes take unreliable narrators at their word, or go too far with the 'unreliable narrator' thing and then start assuming even silly things are unreliable (i.e. Qrow saying not many people are religious on modern Remnant. Why would this be unreliable??). I've seen some incredibly stupid takes about Ozpin. One of the ones i hate the most is that he's racist. Don't need to explain the stupidity of that one lol.
And, another thing that I don't really talk about- i think a lot of people are pretty wrong about Salem too. I don't think she abused Oz, or that she's a heartless monster, or that the Grimm turned her into an unfeeling being. She's absolutely cruel, and she's gotten a fuck ton of people killed, but I'm honestly not sure her goal is to destroy the world to commit suicide lol. It feels like the show is building up to reveal that that's not the case, since we haven't actually gotten her goal from HER yet.
And another character a lot of ppl don't understand is Oscar. Like... yes he has a personality?? He's contemplative, sassy, realistic yet optimistic, values individuals, constantly gives people second chances, etc. These are all uniquely Oscar traits. The only things he's gotten from the merge personality-wise seem to be a widening vocabulary and more confidence. He's not a nothing character with no development or no arc, and he's definitely not gonna be taken over by Ozpin.
13. Worst blorbofication
If I'm understanding this right, the worst case of blorbofication I've personally seen in a fandom is probably what the batfandom does to Tim Drake... and honestly a good chunk of the rest of the batfamily, but particularly poor Tim and Jason. Please for all that is holy stop turning them into lonely victims of the rest of the batfamily where no one can understand them. I guarantee you that Dick, the Romani guy who likely grew up poor in a traveling circus, has more in common with Jason than he does with Bruce.
25. Common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
In the RWBY fandom? Probably complaints about the animation and writing. Most of the time the complaints about the writing are only complaints because the person in question completely misunderstood the show. Some criticism I've seen are actually fair, such as talking about the White Fang and the faunus, but others are... just silly, like Jaune being Miles self insert.
About the batfandom- I'd say the constant complaining about batcest. Which like, it's FAIR to complain and dislike it, but also at some points it's just like... just block and filter the tags? And if its untagged (never seen it untagged before), just politely tell the author/poster and leave. I've seen people get EXTREMELY hostile about it?? Like, legitimately wishing death on people, even as a "joke". Like, cmon man, I don't like those ships either but I'm not wanting people dead over fiction 😭 chill out, you (general) sound insane

So many questions? I'm spoiled! Truly, hehe, thank you! (and for waiting too, I know it's been 3 months, hehe, but we finally have the time for this) :D
Mayormimii's Pathologic Ask Meme
1.Favorite flaw of Pathologic?
The insanely long monologues from P1 characters. Also, the hammy voice acting and thought bubbles in Pathologic 3 Quarantine.
Oh, and the difficulty sliders of P2. It's not a flaw to me, but I know some gamers think that the difficulty sliders is "against the point of the game". I don't believe so, however. They're accessibility tools. Some games can do that to reach a wider audience and I respect that. And I love that the sliders don't mock the players for selecting easier difficulties.
5. How did you pick your first ending?
Sorry, I can't answer this one in the way you might expect! I'm visually impaired so I can't play any of the games - I only watch let's plays and read dialogue transcripts because I need the text read to me via audio. I guess that means that I miss out the choice element (or the illusion of choice).
Haruspex Route, Utopian Ending is a fun scenario I like to rotate in my brain, though. He could rationalize it like this: the Haruspex feels responsible for his children, and the Polyhedron is the children's hope... he may also have misconceptions about the Kains' cult and thinks maybe they'll give the children education and a better home across the river and all that.
I like P2's Diurnal and Nocturnal ending equally. It's also messed up for Artemy who feels torn by two sides that he'll have to choose, "kin or town"... I read that it resonates a lot with the audience, me included (though I'm resonating in a different way).
I don't think the Kin 100% dies in Diurnal. The average people of the Kin - the kid you trade with, the (former) workers of the Termitary, the other non-miraculous people - can live on. How do you manage to live in the throes of colonisation? I live in a "third world" country so that's something I'm interested in.
Here are some posts talking about the Nocturnal ending that I like...
Also, I love Nocturnal because what does this mean for Artemy? Is he the arbiter of miracles now? How does he become a miracle himself? Is he a miracle himself? What's going to happen to the Polyhedron? Will he go to save his friends and allies or even townsfolk he's warmed up to over the plague? If yes, how far is he willing to go?
(It reminds me of people combining P1 and P2 to make Artemy have to see the Humbles Ending where Rubin, Grief, and Lara all his childhood friends and all die, sacrificing themselves for Clara. Now that is also worth rotating in my mind.)
7. Headcanons you forget aren’t canon?
Khan is not a Utopian, not just because of familial neglect, but also because he doesn't want to be groomed to be a vessel for another dead family member. (Your talking about Victor being possessed by Nina reminds me of this xD)
Artemy studied medicine fully in the Capital. And he's pansexual or bisexual. (These are canon only for ISMIE lol).
10. What do you think the Changeling’s story was really about?
Whether you're a good or a bad person, it's not an inherent trait. It depends on your actions, the way Clara has to constantly do good to keep her reputation from sliding too low. It's not easy. It's difficult, it really is. Especially when she really is the plague. But it is always worth trying.
Also, it's about the conversation between devs and the player. So the devs gated Clara's route for last. You're already being told that her story needs either (or both) Bachelor's and Haruspex's stories to be understood - they're telling you how to best enjoy the game to its fullest potential.
And it's a conversation between the devs and the characters. Also, we all talk about the kids being the truth, but even the kids are false, since they're made by the devs. The line between real and not real is thinner than you think.
Clara, for example, aren't supposed to be "real" or "alive" the way players are - however, they can be real in our minds. You know that fans will think about her, analyse her, write about her, make art about her, etc. You know that writers often say that "their characters carry their stories on their own and defy the author's plans".
They can even be real in the physical world. You can become them. I may even be Clara myself, and I would not tell (general) you, because being kin, fictive, or any other identity like that is stigmatized and may even lead to institutionalization. That's beyond breaking the fourth wall! It's breaking "what is personhood?"
Where do you draw the line between "acceptable identity dysphoria" and "roleplaying" and "lying"? The Changeling's Route makes you think about that. Even if it's magical and weird, some of it is applicable in this world. Clara keeps the line between each sister ambiguous. Is she one person, two people, or both? When is she one person, when are they two people, when are they both? And sometimes people would only interpret her personhood against her will, by whichever point of view makes most sense to themselves.
I think personhood is fluid like that, and that's beautiful. I do think that it's better to respect the person identifying as whatever than just projecting (general) your view of personhood on them, however.
Clara's (maybe) the expert on her own identity (but even if not, we respect her character anyway). Her lies become truth, and so it's never been lies in the first place... you can become the mask! You can think that your "secret queer/nsfw/etc. account" is only a fake self... but if you are repressed offline, you'll see that secret account as a solace... eventually that may be your realer self than the one shown on the account with your legal name. Stuff like that!
11. What do you think the Haruspex’s story was really about?
Legacy and expectations and roles.
And also relearning your culture after so long... I'm too "westernized" because I'm queer and disabled and thus can't find local communities because the country is unsafe and I'm too disabled to travel. So I'm very out of place with people from my own country. And I don't have knowledge of my "home" cultures because I live in an urban area, and one of the "home" cultures was given to me by an extreme chauvinist that look down on other culture, so I have a huge sense of loss that way. Artemy's lack of connection with the Kin is very understandable.
Legacy and expectations are like this...
As for the roles... People of the Kin are saying that a person is a part of the whole Khatange... and the Town and Bound need him as Isidor's successor...
While the "hivemind" thing is not my own view (this isn't even interpreted universally the same by the Kin), it's definitely the view of Mark Immortell, where everyone in his theatre of suffering isn't even people, but they're roles to be played by whichever player of Pathologic (or that other "Artemy" NPC) is available.
Also see my "Pathologic and Plurality" post where I talk about Artemy (and Daniil) being plural-coded. This is P2 and not P1, though.
12. What do you think the Bachelor’s story was really about?
I can't answer this one for personal reasons, sorry.
Also I prefer P2's asymmetric coat. That's my Daniil Dankovsky hot take.
19. Do you think Pathologic is worth adapting into other mediums?
Not really, because I can't see it going well when taken by a mainstream thing, however, I have a curiosity for Pathologic to be adapted to these mediums:
A) "Choose Your Own Adventure" book
This is the best way to adapt it, I think, if you want interaction. Maybe you can even make it illustrated! Oh man, imagine a CYOA comic of Pathologic...
B) An "Undertale Live"-style theater play where the audience picks what happens next via majority vote (maybe they have screens or ballots).
With an adapted script to lampshade the new medium, of course!
C) Normal theater play
No, really. Pathologic's whole "illusion of choice" thing can be hammered even more by this medium.

It's so funny that as a child I had this Sonic OC who was called... Grey Miles. He was basically a taller, colder version of Tails inhabitating his body. It was based on Yugi and Yami from Yu-Gi-Oh XDDD I also love that manga
Anyway I was thinking of redesigning him but as an Ozpin like figure, this time around. A nine-tailed fox who becomes a mentor to tails... Mmmm
I HEARD YOU-
I hate draw sonic characters. I just can't. But I tried for you! :> also, thank you for posting about yu-gi-oh, I already read about 150 chapters before that, it's cool :0
And I had my OC too! It called Peach, and I still don't know their's gender, nine year old me doesnt thought about that :) basically it just Tails with peach colors and Caine's hat.
Thanks for asking! You always can ask me about Ozpin and Oscar if you want!

Would Cinder's life have been different if she had met Ozpin instead of Salem?
Hello!
I mean, her story would be different for sure because in-series it is strongly intertwined with Salem's. However, I am not sure Ozpin is the perfect fit to help Cinder tbh, if this is what you are asking.
Midnight is at the root of who Cinder is, to the point her current storyline is just its repetition. This means it is Rhodes and not Salem, who made Cinder who she is. Salem simply chooses Cinder as her pawn because she sees her as perfect for her plans. An angry girl thirsty for power and with a self so frail it is very easy to manipulate. Now, obviously we don't know what exactly happened after Midnight, but we really do not need to. The implication is that Cinder did what Rhodes told her to do. She started running and living as a criminal until, at a certain point in time, she met Salem, who promised her the Maiden powers.
Now, what would have happened if she had met Ozpin instead?
There are 2 possible outcomes...
Cinder refuses to fight for him and simply runs away. She has been let down by a Huntsman and told she would never be one, so why should she now help Ozpin in whatever he wants to do? What can he even offer her? After Rhodes's betrayal, Cinder fixates on power and Ozpin is not the kind of person who promises it (even if sometimes he grants it to certain people). Moreover, I am not really sure Ozpin himself would be interested in Cinder. Ozpin is shown to recruit young people among the Huntsmen and Huntresses in training. This is one of the reasons why the schools exist in the first place. Thanks to them, Oz can choose among people, who are talented and who want to be heroes/do good. You may say the Branwens twins are an exception, but they still went to school at Beacon, Qrow definately wanted to be a hero and Raven was mostly motivated by her bonds.
Cinder accepts to work for Ozpin because something resonates with her and her original dream to be a Huntress is given new life. The moment she discovers the truth (Salem is immortal and Ozpin did not tell), her reaction would most likely be a mix between Qrow and Raven's. She would feel betrayed once more by a Huntsman and become extremely pissed as a result (Qrow). The most likely outcome is that she would escape society and go back to criminality (Raven). Obvsiously, a lot of variables here are possible because in the end it would not be just about Ozpin. Would Cinder form new bonds while working for Ozpin? if she did they may lead to a more positive outcome, but all in all Ozpin is not really the most indicated person to help her imo.
And these are my 2 cents. Imo, unless in this AU Cinder meets other people and forges meaningful relationships with them, the end result would not be that much different. Ozpin would most likely break her trust, just like Rhodes did and this would make Cinder spiral. I mean, even in canon Salem specifically uses Ozpin's hypocrisy and secrets to feed Cinder's resentment:
Cinder to Ozpin: "She was right about you… Such arrogance…"
In Cinder's eyes, Ozpin has built the system that has trapped and tortured Cinder. it is no surprise he is not exactly one of Cinder's favourite people.
Thank you for the ask!
