Given it's UK National Tree Week, it probably makes sense to post some images by @easterlyartists members on an arborial theme - or, at least, featuring trees in one form or another. We've already shown @zawadzki_gallery Paul Zawadzki's "Three Trees" and @hilarybarryartist Hilary Barry"s "Without Warning" so, to continue the series, this is "Winter Willows 1" (digital print on fine art paper) by @marilynjackson48 Marilyn Jackson. In the floods last winter, as the marshes and fields opposite Marilyn’s home filled with water, a strange beauty overtook the landscape. Fields became mirrors of light and colour, as weather conditions and nuances of light were reflected on the water surface. She recorded these events both by photographic means and by drawing, and used the direct experience to inform her work. But – behind the sublime and the beautiful – lurks a serious warning. With encroaching climate change, the chances of events such as this increase and, within the wild and wonderful, lies a message that cannot be ignored. You can see this and other tree-related pieces (as well as plenty of other work!) in Easterly Artists' new exhibition #eamaking "Making Our Mark", which runs till Sunday 9 Jan at @ferini_art_gallery The Ferini Gallery, 27 All Saints Road, Pakefield NR33 0JL. Opening times are Friday-Sunday, 11am-4pm and entry is free. Search #eamaking or visit www.easterly.org.uk/making-our-mark for more details. --------------- #marilynjackson48 #easterlyartists #britishartists #contemporaryartpainting #modernartists #visualartwork #suffolkartist #lowestoftart #feriniartgallery #pakefield #markmakingart #nationaltreeweek #treeart #treearts #treeartists #treeartwork #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalillustration #abstractartwork #abstractartworks #abstractartists #abstractartpainting #abstractlandscapes #abstractlandscapepainting #abstractlandscapepaintings #abstractlandscapeart #abstractlandscapespainting #abstractedlandscape (at Lowestoft) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW-MIpgDi9m/?utm_medium=tumblr
