“Guess you did something to me.”

Izzy silently agreed, glad he noticed the change in his own behavior at least. With Dominic at three weeks old, she didn’t find herself nagging at the male as often as before, nor was she calling him to be with his own kid—something she mildly expected at the beginning of the pregnancy. More or less, Izzy had kind of settled into her own routine with being a mother and balancing school at the same time, and had thrown Jordan to the wind—if he wanted to be around, fine, if not, his problem. “Not me, Dominic,” she pointed out, settling into his lap. “I’ve known you for years and this is the first major change I’ve seen in you since then, and that was only after I was really showing. Babies make anybody soft, especially when they’re your own.”

“I guess that means I really love you.” 

“What do you mean you guess?” she whispered, looking at his face barely inches from hers. Because Dominic usually woke them both up with late night crying and fussing, the two had developed a habit of talking until falling back asleep. It was the deepest conversation they’d had, and even though she seemed to be joking, Izzy could feel her heart beating hard in her chest. “I don’t want to be an I guess. I want you to be sure. I want to be able to hear it in your voice when you say it.” her eyes were drifting shut now, so she cuddled closer to the male, managing to whisper, “I want to be yours,” before settling back into sleep.

“I’m not gonna change.”
