Mari Lyons' vibrant color and brush strokes convey a sense of immediacy.  The artist and the viewer truly are present.  Seconds of life seem to have arrested in her work with stunning results in both cityscapes and landscapes.

A student of Max Beckmann at Bard College, Mari (2 years younger than The Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors) splits her time between NYC and upstate New York; both milieus have provided focal points for artistic expression. Mari has studied and shown extensively worldwide and in New York through The First Street Gallery.  Her work is in several museums and private collections.
