Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid
Albert Einstein
This is something that is so important to realise. Everyone is not the same person, everyone has their way that works better for them. This is something we should embrace! How is dynamism, innovation and improvement going to happen if we are not different?
The world becomes a better place precisely because we are different!Â
Diversity, traditions and other disasters
... quoting Desmond Tutu would be very appropriate: “We inhabit a universe that is characterized by diversity.” This can be interpreted in many ways – it is not just an explanation as to why we should treat everyone equally but it is also a statement that tells us how this world works. Planet Earth is inhabited by people with pale skin as well as people with almost black skin. Tall, small, fat skinny, white, black and everything in between is represented on our Earth. Today in our western culture our ears are filled with messages about loving who you are and not being ashamed of what you look like (and what you do not look like) and that everyone is equal. But naturally it has not always been like that – history has spilled the beans about that. The world is filled with differences and contrasts – that fact is undeniable. Some of these contrasts are shown in the short story “The Journey to the Brothers’ Farm” which is from 2013 and written by Pippa Gough.

Perspectives: The Correct Way to Cut an Avocado and What To Believe About Perfect Scandinavia.
THE CORRECT WAY TO CUT AN AVOCADO AND WHAT TO BELIEVE ABOUT PERFECT SCANDINAVIA
The first of hopefully many perspectives is published on our website!
The first one is about critical thinking, avocados and new perspectives on perfect Scandinavia.Â
This picture has been all over the internet recently and we thought we would write something including it – hopefully this will help you social science lovers and others!
Here is an appetizer:
“These days the internet tells you so many things – how many calories you should be eating in a day, how to do make up properly, how to cut an avocado correctly etc. There are no limits. If you ask mr. Google a question you can be sure to find the exact answer you want – not necessarily the correct answer but the answer you want to hear. We seek confirmation; Yes, I eat too many calories a day. Yes, I do my eyeshadow the wrong way. No, I have never been cutting my avocados correctly. We tend to seek the negative answers – I am not doing anything the right way. I am not sufficient. I am not perfect. However, if the answer you got was that you need to be eating 800 calories a day, that you need to use this specific and very expensive eyeshadow brush and that you have to cut your avocado into cubes in order to do it correctly you are sure to feel insufficient. We need to be more critical about what we read on the internet! Just eating 800 calories a day will ensure a rapid weight loss with severe health implications as a consequence hereof.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Ello, LinkedIn or whatever social media you log onto will bombard you with these pictures filled with facts about everything from how to cook to this is how they do things in Scandinavia. Many of which will make you want to do what they say so you can lead the perfect life.”
