greetings, may i have the weirdest freshwater fish in your arsenal
Bam! Here you are, the freshest water freak i got
Most jawed fish are classified as ray-finned fish. However, these guys and Ceolocanths are the only remaining lobe-finned fish.
Another fun fact! Tiktaalik, also known as Grandpa, also known as one of the first fish to escape the sea, was classified as a lobe-finned fish. As were its descendants. So by purely taxonomic classification, YOU are a lobe-finned fish. Congratulations :D
Anyway, enough science lesson. Onto the feeesh
You get a Marbled Lungfish
Protopterus aethiopicus
happy Final Week of Mermay!!!! here’s Belle, a Kingbubbler Mer based on the Marbled Lungfish!
These mers lack gills, and breathe air exclusively. However, they are not limited to shallow dives, as they have large kingdoms that they maintain in bubbles of air on the ocean floor. Can keep bubbles in place and extract the oxygen from water to regulate their kingdom’s boundaries. Used to invite humans to tours in efforts to establish themselves as world-known nations, but dropped the attempts when it seemed more dangerous than it was worth. Often in human form, only transforming when they want to swim somewhere outside their bubble. Their tails resemble that of lobe-finned fishes.

If you could make a mix of any two animals, what would it be and why?
Hey Liza thanks for the ask. I have a lot of fun doing it as well as crazy ideas.
This is more difficult that it seems because if an animal is like he's because evolution has perfected that way to be the best in the medium he lives.
So, I think I'm going to go with a pretty unimaginative answer and say I'll get a big feline and add venom and retractile fans as snakes. So I'll go with an Iberian Lynx with the venom of a Black Mamba.
And the reason, just for protection? I don't know, I think it would be cool to have a big predator with venom.
If we go for the more creative route, type a Minotaur or a sphinx. Then, I want to give a beak and wing to a lungfish, so they can do migrations around the globe, and they don't need to hibernate. I'd choose the Marbled lungfish, and I'd give the beak and wings of a vulture.
