The interconnected quest/goal/mission system makes it feel like you have gameplay other than just dailies

The ENTIRE site is mobile friendly. Not just random pages

That said, the layout is still very retro internet, and evokes more nostalgia than the current Neo look for me, even tho I didn’t play Mara as a kid

You get a human avatar to dress up - and yes, it’s soooo ugly at first, but the glow up as you gain better items puts them surprisingly on par with Gaiaonline

They have SCHOOL!!! (I always wanted Neo school…)

So many Quality of life features!!!!! The biggest being that you can click any item to INSTANTLY see its lowest price in user shops & whether it’s stocked in its real shop. (And even if it’s in your “attic”/SDB equivalent!)

Shit loads of “dailies” that refresh every 1-3 hours

You can trade in-game currency for the NC equivalent with other users

The art quality varies around the site, but the pets especially look excellent

I’m such a Veteran of Neopets, there’s genuinely nothing else for me to work towards except stamps and avatars… but cute, expensive pets are what really motivates me to play games like these

Also I’ve never been a griffin girly but like… LOOK at her nubby kitten paws 🥺 I expected to like Crikeys the most as the Krawk equivalents, but Crindols have quickly become my fave
