PENANG // 🦐🦀🐙🐟Seafood galore from Hamisu, Jalan Dato Keramat, Penang island. Full menu on @perthfoodmenu We started off with their signature sauna prawns (12 prawns; RM45) whereby the fresh prawns are placed into a pre-heated wok filled with hot charcoal and yellow rice wine. The prawns sizzle inside and you literally get a sauna of fragrant yellow rice wine coming right at your face. The prawns were springy and tasty with their house-made condiments - enjoyed this so much that we ordered a second round. Everything was fresh and my favourite was the special dish yellow rice wine with Mantis Shrimp and glass noodles soup (pics 2 & 10; three mantis prawns; RM58). The mantis prawns were *just* cooked and incredibly sweet. The three mud crabs (RM340) were very fresh too and the flesh was solid and succulent - you can tell the flesh will be good when the crab has not changed its shell in ages - so much so that there were super-hard oyster / coral parasitic creatures growing on the shell. The steamed dragon grouper (RM120) was delicious too - because it was just cooked through, the inner parts were not cooked through and we asked for it to re-steamed. The stinky bean fried sotong (pic 6; RM30) was tender, succulent and springy. Kamheong kappa (pippis; pic 7; RM17) were cooked in a spicy sauce and very sweet. Hand catch seafood (pic 8; RM168) comes with two crabs, 500g of prawns and 500g of shellfish along with mixed vegetables, steamed and fried mantou buns. We enjoyed the crispy fried mantou buns that we ordered it separately (10 pieces; pic8; RM10). This restaurants offers live prawning onsite too - you can catch your own prawns and have it cooked for you. Would recommend this restaurant for fresh and well-cooked, delicious seafood. #hamisupenang #seafood #crabs #prawns #mantisprawn #sotong #shellfish #penang #pfrinpenang (at Hamisu) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzXnv_sD2Ac/?igshid=5jitjplhiqdf
