IMPORTANT! : Hi, this is @myauroloveand I thought I’d do my manga recommendations. There is no ranking and it goes into diverse categories of manga that I have read.
This manga is Why did men stop wearing high heels?
This is actually one of my favourite reads, which I ask that you read the webtoon on Lenzhin Comics official site.
This is one funny and incredible slice of life webtoon, where office worker, Kim Manseok has a secret that would be frowned upon by normal society. He is a lover of high heels. Not only is he great at picking them, he has extensive knowledge of all heels and looks great wearing them. He even has a blog that is really famous with woman, called Mansook’s heels, where he flaunts heels he spent tons on with his salary. He first fell in love with heels when his ex girlfriend commented on how great his feet were, and would drag him around to try them on with her. She later left him for someone else, (but also due to some other reasons that you will have to read to find out). Feeling upset and lonely since she’s left the home they shared, Kim realises she’s left her favourite heels on the step and is about to call her to get it back, but instead puts them on himself. His passion flourishes from there.
It’s hard for Kim to keep going to the same stores, as he can’t keep making the same excuses that he is buying a pair for his (non -existent) girlfriend or family. While he’s hunting a new store down, his directions lead him to this run down looking store, yet sitting there in the store is the late French couture embroider Francois Lesage and Cristian Lovoo Marie Antoinette shoes. Limited edition, worth thousands.
When a shabby store clerk comes out, Kim becomes irritated when the clerk is rude and dismisses him. He grabs the shoes, puts them on and takes a few pictures which he posts on his blog later. The clerk chases him out; in actuality, the shabby shop clerk is actually previous top designer Oh Seon, who came back to Korea to get back his inspiration after some unfortunate circumstances in France. He has an incredible foot fetish and is a follower of Mansook’s blog; having been trying to find her as his muse for his new designs.
Of course, when Seon sees the picture of his limited edition shoes on Mansook’s blog he is confused; but, comes to the conclusion that Kim must know Mansook. When Mansook hastily ran out of the store, he forget his work badge. Thus, when going into work that morning, he is confronted by the shabby Oh Seon who is demanding to know who Mansook is, despite Kim being Manseok.
lol! There is a lot more development and comedy in this slice of life manga. The controversy of the plot is enjoyable, and drags you into the funny stereotypes of society. There are more characters, and more subplots that will bring you into an emotional journey, with the characters. It’s a refreshing read, and the sparkly colours of the webtoon are appeasing to the eye.
I enjoy it, so I hope you do too.
