10: what is the longest time you let a draft rest before you finished it?
For fanfic, however long it took me to finish Starchild. A couple of years? For original 'fic, I put the manuscript of Butterfly on a Wheel down in like March of 2009 and picked it up again in November of 2021. (Never give up on your dreams)
22: do you ever worry about public reaction to what you're writing? how do you get past that?
Honestly overall public reaction has been extremely kind to me over the years. Hopefully that continues with my original ventures lol. I will say when a bunch of weird Fire Emblem "anons" decided I was public enemy #4 on account of what I was writing and how I was writing it, I did not enjoy the experience... but the cure for being burned by that was writing more stuff I knew they'd hate. LOL.
27: your favorite part of the writing process
Ooh. I think the most magical part of writing is when you figure out something about a character that makes them cohere in a way they previously hadn't. A trait or quality that turns the collection of quirks into a 3D person. The key to figuring out why they are "like that." Sometimes its getting into their gender or sexuality, sometimes it's realizing a disability or other condition they have-- an illness or an addiction, and sometimes it's trivial but really colors your take on a character.
