Of course, she ends up being oh-so-incredibly wrong about that, but we're getting a little ahead of ourselves.

It’s been a week since she’d arrived in Thedas, with no memory of how and a shiny new magical construct embedded in her hand. She’s taking it all in stride, as she’s learned to do because back in Skyrim, her life is anything but ordinary.  She's grin-and-bearing it, remembering not to roll her eyes when someone addresses her as Herald and doing her best not to crumble under the new pressure on her. She's not a leader and she's never been one (her role as Guild Master for a certain guild was another story) but she's doing the best she can.

She's in the war room with Cassandra and the other advisors, going over their next coarse of action. She'd visited Mother Giselle in the Hinterlands, who advised her to appear to the masses ... which was easier said than done, in Lena's opinion. But, she was pretty confident in how things were going in their plans and didn't think anything could possibly knock her down.

That was until they were informed of the havoc being wreaked in Haven by an intruder, and the person who informed them described the intruder as a tall, blonde woman who was shouting in a language the Herald had used.

Remember how we mentioned Lena thought herself to be fearless? Well, that all disappeared. Her face pales and she's quickly doing the most un-Herald-like thing she can do: crawl under the war table.

" Uh ... herald? " Cassandra questions, leaning down to look at the girl. " What are you doing? "

" Remember how I was a prisoner a week ago? Maybe you should put me back in the dungeons because if you don't, my sister will. " Because she was about to face the consequences of her actions. She was about to come face to face with an angry, worried big sister who'd probably torn apart Tamriel looking for her.

“ The healer said I was lucky that it wasn’t too deep. Had Alduin managed to cut me deeper with his claw, I either would’ve died or lost use of my legs.” She’s sitting up in bad, her torso wrapped up in bandaged. Most of the bruises had faded thanks to the healing potions but the scar on her back wasn’t healing quite as fast. It was stitched up and currently covered in a numbing salve.
