To be honest, I wasn’t too annoyed, at first. (Okay, I’m not a great fan of the dry tone, but that’s my problem. That person still spared some time to drop a comment on my fic and they were trying to help, I can still appreciate that.) I actually thought that, maybe, they didn’t know the word ‘pome’ in English (that’s why I put the dictionary definition) since it comes from Latin – I don’t know if it’s true, but my high school English teacher used to say that words of Latin origins tend to be ‘fancier’ and not of such common use. Either way, everybody can make mistakes and I wouldn’t have held it against them. What irked me was the answer. At that point, I was just… ookay then? I don’t know, I just felt like the stand-offish tone was a bit rude, but also kind of ridiculous. 😅 

Really, I have nothing against people correcting my mistakes (and I do need corrections, lol), but I agree with what you said. I feel like the tone is always important, when interacting with other people. And so is being reasonably sure that there was actually a mistake, haha. Doing otherwise annoys me because it feels kind of disrespectful.

But, I’m really rambling now, I’ll shut up. Thank you so much for your kind words. 💖

And you never have to apologize for a question, I don’t mind answering! You’re looking for some other writer recommendations, right? (I think this is what you were asking, but the wording threw me off a bit. Sorry, with English not being my first language I don’t always understand perfectly). Because in this case, I can do even better than what you are asking: I can recommend you writers who are much better than I can ever hope to be :D

@mandelene has written a huge lot of absolutely amazing fics [x] and her writing is brilliant. An added bonus is that almost all of her stories are complete, which is a rarity considering the big number.

@cmcsl1520 also has a lot of short and sweet, well-written fics [x].

Another author I recommend is Emperor Kumquat [x], who has written some impressively long stories. The ones I’ve read were excellent both in terms of plot and characterization, so I would definitely recommend her works in general.

I also recommend Tatsumaki-sama [x], who used to write fics for Hetalia years ago. She has since switched fandoms and you’ll find a lot of other stories in her profile, but I’d really recommend looking at the Hetalia ones because there are several ones and everything I’ve personally read denoted fantastic writing skills, in my opinion.

There is also ColorQueen4567 [x], a very young author who I think is very promising and has already some stories under her belt. Not many are complete, though, so I’d check which ones she’s still updating before you start reading.

Another author I love is Azumizai [x], who has written some of my absolutely favourite Hetalia fics – but they are incomplete and I don’t think they’ll be finished. I’d still recommend reading Feverish, in particular, because it’s already quite long and a lot happens, so I wouldn’t consider it a waste of time, but keep in mind that it’s incomplete.

Lastly, I would like to recommend Shadowcatxx [x]. I have only read a couple of fics (and I’m saddened to find out they’ve been since deleted) because the rest are too shipping-oriented for my tastes, however, the little I’ve read was enough to tell me that the characterization is excellent and the writing very engaging, so I’d definitely recommend this author if you don’t mind the pairings :)

1) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Well, I’ve never been outside of the United States, but I’d love to go anywhere in Europe. One place I’d go to would be Potsdam, Germany, because of its background. I have a passion for Prussian history, and Potsdam was the location of Frederick the Great’s summer home.

2) What’s your favorite type of music to listen to?

I don’t have an exact favourite because I listen to all kinds of music, although some genres are more popular than others in my playlist. But, after organizing my playlist by genre, I’ve flung that there are a lot of pop, alternative, and rock songs to compared to other genres.

3) What’s you favorite book of all time?

I think I’ve mentioned this one before, but my favourite book of all time is Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. It’s well-written, she did her research on the topics and regions she chose, and the novel keeps you in suspense until the very end. I read it nearly three years ago, but I still remember the amount of symbolism that kept me so attached to it.

4) Mountain or beach?

Well, considering that I’m at the beach as I’m writing this, I have to say that I would pick the beach over the mountain. I love listening to the waves and feeling the sun warm my skin while reading or taking a nice walk. There’s just something about it makes me want to stay that way forever.

5) What’s the one thing about yourself that you really love?

This is a tough question for me because I have the unfortunate tendency of being very hard on myself, especially when it comes to my passions. However, because I have to pick one thing that I love about myself, I’d have to say it is my compassionate nature. I’ve been told that I am sensitive and selfless when it comes to the feelings and situations of others and I am glad to hear it. I really love that I enjoy helping others out. Compassion is a much needed quality when there are so many people that are suffering in the world.

6) If you could learn a language overnight, which language would you pick?

French. I already have some experience with it, and after starting to learn three languages in high school, I became attached to French the most. Although, if I were to pick something less mainstream, I’d go with Gaelic because why not.

7) If you could give your past self a piece of advice, what you tell them?

It’s going to be okay. I know that sounds cheesy and cliché, but it’s true. Everything is going to work out. You’ll be able to get out of those houses, and when you do, you will finally be able to step back and work through it. No more bottling up your emotions and allowing your anxieties to cage you. You will be free, just keep surviving a little longer.

And also keep writing everything down, for every word that flows through your finger tips has the capability to break chains. Use that.

8) What’s something you’ve always wanted to do/learn?

Time travel or listen to the stories of seniors. I am a huge history buff, particularly when it comes to the 1910s-1950s, and I’d rather hear about the time first hand than read about it from a book. It’s so much better when you can ask questions instead of questioning the book’s sources.

9) Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

If I had to choose just one person, then I’d pick my younger brother. I am not a survivalist at all, and I would die without his camping skills. Plus, it would just be better for me if I was working with someone I knew.

If I can pick more than one person then I’d pick Jared Padelecki or Jensen Ackles for strength and fighting skills and my brother for survival skills.

10) List two pet peeves.

• When customers come to the register with a cart full of stuff and only buy like three things.

• Cruel and/or petty gossip

11) How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

It depends. When I know I have nothing important planned for the day, it can take me nearly two hours. When I’m getting up early and I want the maximum amount of sleep possible, then I can get ready in fifteen minutes.

5. Share one of your strengths.

I don’t really have any strength. I’m just a very mediocre amateur writer who keeps writing because she can’t find many fics she’d like to read. And I like writing, too.

9. Which fic has been the hardest to write?

Arthur Kirkland’s Guide to Being a Brother. I tried using a different style from my usual extremely (most likely too much) detailed writing, I tried writing more synthetically. I see many fics that are quite short and episodic but at the same time manage to convey every emotion, but I think my effort fell quite flat and felt disjointed instead. Moreover, I had to tackle a heavy subject instead of delegating it to a backstory and that was quite hard.

It didn’t take him long to realize who his next patient was, and he wasn’t sure whether to laugh at the irony or hand the file off to the next grad student.

This is from a W.I.P. I’ve had laying around for ages. It’s a Hetalia fanfiction with more than one couple happening, but in this particular part it’s the start of FrUK. Francis is referring to his roommate, Arthur, in the sentence above.
