Y’all, if you haven’t checked out the Looking for Leia series yet on SYFY WIRE, go do it now. It’s so good!!

I’ve enjoyed all the episodes, but this one in particular had me in tears. It’s so beautifully done and it sums up so much of how I feel about Princess Leia and good stories and portraying her through cosplay.

Some of the other amazing episodes talk about representation in fandom, the Navajo translation of ANH, early fanzine/fanfic authors, droid builders, and more, all centered around the experiences of female/non-binary fans. Each episode is short at 10-15 minutes, but they’re so packed with beautiful perspectives and wisdom and love and unabashed joy. Highly, highly recommend!

My very favorite Ord Mantell fic is @suezahn‘s brilliant “Mergers and Acquisitions.” (This reminds me that I first read this fic back when I was a timid reader who never left comments/reviews, so it’s possible that I never reviewed this lovely thing…must remedy that.) I think a number of other authors have used some of the headcanons that come from that piece. Also, I like that Sue gives Leia an actual female friend on base in whom she can confide about some of her feelings.

Another good one is @mandatheginger / MandyQ’s “It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time.” There’s a date! And shopping for actual clothes! And Leia being totally badass!

Those two would be my top recommendations, but I know there are definitely more worth reading – you might check out @hanleiaarchive, which has an #ordmantell tag with various stories.

Yes, Kylux is probably a giant mess of evil, but in a world where people ship everyone and their mother with the villian, we finally have an asshole to compliment the villian.

I can’t sell my work because the characters are copyright, but I am totally fine with people printing my work for personal use! As long as no one sells it or claims credit, it’s completely okay. It just makes me happy that people want my work in their homes. Thank you for the interest! :D

As you may know, Rogue Squadron wasn’t actually Rogue Squadron by the time of the Battle of Hoth. Prior to it, it was called Rogue Flight and was part of Red Squadron, and during the battle it was formed into a makeshift force called Rogue Group, which included pilots from several different squadrons (Red, Green, and Rogue Flight). The pilots and gunners together during the battle numbered 23, and each pilot-gunner pair flew one snowspeeder and shared a call sign. So, we have:

Rogue Leader: Luke Skywalker and Dak Ralter

Rogue Two: Zev Senesca and Kit Valent

Rogue Three: Wedge Antilles and Wes Janson

Rogue Four: Derek “Hobbie” Klivian and Kesin Ommis

Rogue Five: Tycho Celchu and Tarn Mison

Rogue Six: Samoc Farr and Vigrat Pomoner

Rogue Seven: Nala Hetsime and Cinda Tarheel

Rogue Eight: Vekozev Kabir and Stax Mullawny

Rogue Nine: Stevan Makintay and Barlon Hightower

Rogue Ten: Tarrin Datch and Hosh Hune

Rogue Eleven: Tenk Lenso and Jek Pugilio
