Perseus, Andromeda and the Sea Serpent and Married Life

Modern Men: In my mens work I see deep need as men wrestle with boredom, insecurity, fear, trepidation, inability to make life important life decisions. There's a lot of submerged masculinity, laziness, lack of creativity, meaningless goals, lack of life vision and little internal fire to create new realities.

In men's faces there's a glazed over disinterest, blah like yawn, tv daze, chronic internet/gaming escapism and vicarious entertainment self-medicating going on. We are watching other people's stories instead of creating our own.

There's a fair share of  monotonous monogamy that is plaguing men and the languishing lusting that is replacing it is undermining marriages. Men are in a quagmire of numbing banalities that have softened the wall of manhood into a meaningless word. The need for Viagra is a perfect picture of limp and illusionary living.  

Many men are clueless about where to go, how to get there and why they should even wake from their trojan stupor.

Fatherlessness is rampant as men drift without a compass or purpose...and the encroaching pointlessness of manhood is excruciating....especially in the Church.

We need images, stories, examples, patterns, guides, voices, lights...willing sages that will engage the hard work of soul formation.

We are not caring for our inner lives and those we love are suffering because of the mummification of manhood.

We need heroic and tragic tales that remind us, awaken us, move us and haunt us.

the "best guy friend" for too long. the most is probably a quarter or two. 

i cannot help but have concerns. they never end well.

but whatever will happen will happen. 

there's no use worrying about it. 

we are here. this is now. be present. 

people walk in and out all the time. 

experience. live. learn. grow.

it's okay to be happy.
