I made this wonderful art for @mana-sputachu!! I worked extremely hard on it!!

There were so many details I wanted to place in but I had to cut them out because of possible plot holes and whatnot! I also added a hidden detail from "Common Ground." If you know, you know.

Same. Tbh i kinda wanna write something inspired by it, but WHO KNOWS when i’ll have time. But the idea is so stupidly entertaining, it’s a dumb trope but i love it

the funny thing is that i once told my brother a story where togami and fukawa swapped bodies without knowing about this existing... my power shines through yet again.

ironically, i headcanon that they got married in October <- LMAO me too

fu wants to be a human because the land is somewhere her family won’t be able to find her and she wants to read books and be somewhere new. she’s wary of humans (in elusive-verse, most mermaids avoid humans for a good reason and it’s why sakura has so far not shown up in the story), so she makes friends with a seagull, and then she makes friends with a stinkbug. well... she thinks they’re friends.

meanwhile togami is a wizard who, in order to be chosen to be the head of his family, has to come up with a new spell/potion more impressive than those of his siblings. mermaids are rare so he strikes up a deal with fukawa. like in elusive-verse, this fukawa isn’t head over heels with him (and imo in canon, she fell in love with him over the two years of hp... and what we see in the mutual killings are those feelings without the memories) so they have to learn to get along. they try to come up with a spell that can turn her into a human which would give him a good chance of winning the competition.
