Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is a great Italian restaurant located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and provides a film and movie star theme. They feature hand tossed pizzas, pastas, and Parmesan style dishes. My family and I were skeptical on the decision to go here, as tradition usually has us at Tutto Italia of the Italian Epcot Pavilion, but with change as our motto for this trip we went for it. For an appetizer, we all shared a margarita pizza; and I kid you not it was gone in 3 minutes. The pizza was so fresh and flavorful, and being a New Yorker that means a lot coming from me. For my entrée, I ordered the Penne alla Vodka, which turned out to be the best I have ever had. I have had penne alla vodka and dozens of restaurants and this topped them all. There was something about this that was amazing, and I recently printed out the recipe to try and replicate it myself. For desert, they serve family style three different types of cake and creme puffs. As full as we were we had to finish them, and we were all amazed at how much we loved it. Though we had our doubts at first, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano gets a 10, and it may just be out new Italian restaurant in Walt Disney World!

Mama Melrose. Their chicken ptarmigan I just love so much. I always have it. I genuinely think I’d cry if one day they stopped doing it. The music is great in there as well, and I’m a sucker for Italian food. Hollywood Studios actually has a lot of great restaurants for theming, and whilst the World Showcase has the best table service in the parks, Mama Melrose has always been my favourite.
