Went out into the forest today to ask for this guy’s permission. An illustration I started in June is now finished and ready for you to see. My first art print in over a year! I just wanted to ask him if it was ok to release the print to try and help his species & habitat survive the Anthropocene. He granted me permission after I showed him the illustration but it came with a couple of conditions. He said under no circumstances can any new trees be used to make the pulp of the prints. I told him about recycled paper. He also said he wants me to give a few bucks to @birdlifeoz as they’ve been good to him. I agreed to both his terms and after that little negotiation I came home to prepare his portrait and make the necessary arrangements for the recycled paper and conservation efforts. — Mental, I know, but my first print in a year will be available in the next couple of days.
