#male oriented

I wanted to mull over my thoughts on a conversation I held with a fellow vendor recently. He was chatting us up about a referral bonus if we sent people his way for solar panels. The event was winding down and he asked if we knew what time it was. I tapped my apple watch and pulled up the time. This excited him and he started asking questions about why I liked the device. I told him about being able to check my texts and emails, and respond, about the neat haptics when you're using maps... Then he got awkward with it. "Doesn't it make you mad that they don't make bands for women?" I think my jaw might have hit the ground. I shook my head and assured him that I wasn't mad about it. "Well, I mean aren't women's bands supposed to be smaller? Like dainty?" Had I been working alone, I probably would have gone into a bit of a rant. I really want to know why this is still a question. No. I really don't need something to be dainty in order to wear it. Why do people still assume that feminists want further separation? I want pockets that my iPhone 6 plus will fit in without falling out. I want a watch band that isn't going to break as I lift 100lbs of equipment in and out of my car. It's not about having things more feminine! It's exactly the opposite! I didn't get the chance to explain this, as he automatically started conversing with Terry about the vendor referral bonus... Neither of us claimed to be the one in charge... But Terry being an older white guy, was obviously the boss. (True, but it still rankled me.) Moral of the story? I happen to like both my heavy, strong, masculine iWatch bands.
