Just on the off chance that some of you haven’t seen this -- I fell madly in love with Sir Percy Blakeney the first time I watched it. It’s a wildly romantic movie that is set during the French Revolution. Sir Percy marries the beautiful Marguerite St. Just, but through a series of mishaps, misunderstandings, and deceptions set in place by the villainous Chauvelin, who is secretly in love with Marguerite, Percy and his wife begin to suspect one another of spying and treason. Marguerite is a former actress, and Percy is a master of disguise, so they deceive one another in order to protect one another. In the meantime, Marguerite’s handsome brother Armand is trying to get his fiancée out of France, and Percy’s squad is plotting to rescue the Dauphin. Needless to say, all is resolved in the end, but not before intense suspense, tears, a terrific sword duel, and lots of fabulous costume changes. You can watch it on Netflix or even YouTube, and it’s a great way to escape for a couple of hours.
