Steelbeak’s heart wanted to leap out of his chest and into the unforgiving weather. Glaring at him was a doorbell, waiting for him to make a move lest he get cold feet, literally. He huffed out in frustration, resenting that of all the places he could take shelter, the closest bet was that of a former enemy. Though Steelbeak was forgiven in the past, that didn’t make his ordeal any less humiliating. Before, he rendered the parrot a jailbird, and now, he had to ask for more than just forgiveness. He felt he didn't deserve it, but at the end of the day, pride wasn’t going to keep him warm. In a couple of ways, his hand was forced, leaving him no choice but to reach forward.
Now all that was left was to find some way to actually ask for shelter. In theory, it was a simple and easy task, but he had never asked for help like this before. There was a first for everything, and surely, it couldn't hurt to try, right?
