I do not know when I first cut this swoop that separates my texture from the glaze area. I did it because glazes look different when they have an inch to run vs two, three or more. The swoop lets me see the glaze variations on every piece. But it has become a signature right down to the little ^ above my maker’s mark (which is actually where the lines from each side don’t exactly meet up. It’s my favorite detail of the swoop.) 2019 has me thinking of change and pushing myself to try new things. Last weekend I thought about changing the swoop. Nope. Nope. Nope. There is still too much to explore there.
