Hi Way!! What are your favorite candies (Halloween or otherwise) and favorite biscuits?? :D
HI MAKI!! Thank you for the ask :D
Favourite candy in general is chocolate, but the specifics depend a bit on mood, I think? I don't really have one consistent favourite bar. Right now for example I might go with twirls, because I've just been talking about them (have you had these?? I don't think they're easy to come by outside the UK?)
They are crumbly and fun to eat, and because of the thin layers of folded chocolate you get a more intense flavour than with a solid bar. ALSO @sideguitars and I were talking about their possible suitability as another drinking straw food, and if THAT works then they definitely deserve some appreciation (speaking of which, you should add this to your list of straw foods to try too! We can go up the scale from wafer-no-chocolate to wafer-and-chocolate to chocolate-no-wafer and compare notes)
BISCUITS (I'm assuming we mean british biscuits/cookies by this and not the scone-type american kind?). I'm tempted to say jaffa cakes just for the fun of the controversy, except that would be a lie, and also I am on the side of jaffa-cakes-as-cakes so I can't bring myself to do it.
As an excessive chocolate fiend I think often what makes a superior biscuit is piling as much chocolate as you can get away with onto it while still fitting the definition of "biscuit" rather than "chocolate bar"
Like these, for example:
For a more every day biscuit though... I enjoy the dismantle-ability of a sandwich biscuit (bourbons, oreos, custard creams). A standard chocolate digestive is also an excellent work horse of a biscuit. Good for dipping. Good on its own. Good for s'mores if you're that way inclined. Also good for arguing about which side is the top, which can be a fun time.
What are your favourites??
