me, internally: it's not about how much they get done in their series, it's not about if they're productive or not. it's about the pure friendship, joy, and laughter they have together. just on stream, they remembered a fond moment from FOUR YEARS ago together. they remembered how they laughed about their series, from four years ago, in a crystal-clear memory. that's such a pure friendship that they have together, i'm so proud of them. they always have fun when they're together and that rubs off on me, every time i watch one of their videos i feel better about life and always laugh, or at least smile. their attitude of not caring about others and messing up other people's progress is sometimes what i wish i could do, to lose my sense of "must be what everyone expects and wants me to be!" and just let go with a best friend, to have fun and laugh together. every time sips and sjin are together, they can spin conversation out of nothing, have such a great time, and i absolutely adore that.

and i mean like alien!sjin. that whole thing with the human-eating and gross body horror probably this is something i can get behind

alien!sjin could have been delved into soooo much more, but also i’m kind of glad it wasn’t - one thing i’ve learned is that the yogscast fandom, one of the reasons i really like it is that a lot of the story is interpreted by the fans and viewers - there’s not too much canon lore or stuff that you’re forced to follow

like. taking over spaceships. sjin killing people left, right, and center. sips not being bothered by this at all (probable vampire... smh) and idk i find the dynamic of that super interesting for some reason

they’re boarding and eventually overthrowing all these spaceships and finding their way... well, wherever their goal was, and they had to run into interesting plot along the way

they figure out their relationship and in calmer times discuss human/alien relationships and what that would mean for them and confirm mutual agreement of friendship/whatever kind of indescribable love. sips and sjin had a lot of time to discuss things like this, ‘i spy’ games get boring in space, as we’ve seen

people trying to tear them apart from eachother

trying to make sips lose faith in sjin/try to make him feel scared by the whole ‘human despising and eating’ thing, maybe spinning horror tales of sjin’s species

trying to get sjin to turn on sips and betray him

wondering why the hell sips is the only human that sjin’ll never hurt

but then their friendship always prevails (i like a happy ending okay nothing wrong with that) and

sips covering for sjin and lying to others that he’s a human

sneaking past security and “put your helmet on, quick, someone’s coming!”

looking out for each other. especially sjin being alarmed when he learns how fragile humans are and goes into ‘ily bae stay safe pls’ mode

no really the previous bullet point - “do you need water??” “everything good? “[standing over some dead body] well i’m set for food, do you- oH MY GOD YOU DON’T AHVE ANY FOOD S OKAY I’LL GO GET SOMETHING AHH I”M SORRY I’M SELFISH SHI-”

sjin crawling through random-ass vents and sneaking around spaceships while sips scouts the main hallway

this is how they fall into the pattern of snuggling at night/when resting. sometimes they have to camp out in one of the hallways of a partially-destroyed spaceship and tough conditions. sips lays adjacent to the wall and sjin sort of cuddles up next to him and sips never protests against this so it gets more sleep hug/straddling as time goes on

sjin, like snakes on earth, eating a meal, but becoming really drowsy afterwards so sips has to give him a piggyback ride to run and defend both of them from enemies

sjin becoming more open as time goes on about taking off his helmet and alternately; sjin tries to avoid sips in one instance because he feels that the whole killing humans thing is disturbing to sips and he has on his helmet all the time because he genuinely feels that he might be scaring sips even though sips has no real problem about that stuff, with the thought “maybe he just pretends i’m human when he can’t see my face and that’s why he hasn’t run off screaming yet” but also, then sjin vents all this one day and it’s a big cryfest for them,, and also myself because ffff,, they work it all out and it’s all good in the end though

“sometimes i wish i was an alien too so we could make out”/”sometimes i wish i was a human too so we could make out” awkwardness

no but also their relationship in space was purely platonic/romantic and not sexual at all because like. (idk maybe if sips has a thing for snake-cat-weird-thing like aliens but) so when they get to earth/minecraftia, and sjin turns human-looking/idk whatever headcanon species you have for him, plus being almost naked wearing nothing but a loincloth (gdi sjin that part’s canon, there’s no going back) sips is like “ohh... ok ay”

them floating around in space??? making weird jokes??? lego talk??? talking about their civilizations/planets and becoming really interested in that

sjin having a “oh shit, maybe humans aren’t as bad as i thought” crisis (he gets over it soon enough tho)

(talking for a bit about fic writing as well, if you want a bit of ramble about that!)

I'm so glad you asked!

I think that I like sjips the most out of all the yogships because seeing how they interact with one another is kind of inspiring. Sounds ridiculous, seeing as that their goals were to build a factory that produced dirt, ward off a mafia made of beavers, and live in a castle woven of rainbows, but asides from the obviously deriven-from-lego-talk stuff, it's when you get down to what their dynamic together is really about.

This point borders their IRL friendship, but I love how they can pick up a random-ass topic. Anything. Name a movie, spin the story around. Talk for hours and hours. (They once talked about farting for 5 minutes straight, jfc)I have horrible trouble talking to people for long periods of time. I cannot hold a conversation. Maybe I can start them, but I can't talk for long periods of time without A) complaining about something, B) debating some SJ issue, or C) discussing recent fandom events. Without referring to those three things, I would be quiet as a mouse. Sips and Sjin have such chemistry together, even quoted by Sjin that he feels comfortable talking about anything with Sips, and it really amazes me. Talking on and on and on and on... and even when they're not talking, they're the kind of friends/couple that can sit in perfectly comfortable silence. That's such a beautiful kind of relationship to have.

Their characters together, ohhhh my lord. Put it into a teencast AU, and you've got the two class clowns right here. They would probably be the ones snickering in the back, dicking around, passing notes, calling out inappropriate answers, and somehow, somehow, avoiding the wrath of the teacher.In the Canon Universe, they tear shit up, they mock their enemies (Rythian, Lalna, NanoSounds) and even close friends (Honeydinc), don't give a crap about the sanctity of the world, and are pretty careless. Take how they blew up NanoSounds, or crushed Nilesy in the interview chamber. Gleeful eyes and bountiful laughs from these two bozos. Goddamn. Destroying the world? Becoming immortal and annoying everyone on the server? NiceeeSomehow, they avoid authority, completely devoid of guilt for their actions.

It also marvels me how Sips and Sjin can plan things together, take the wall around Honeydinc, I-I ah, mean, Honeydew Inc. They are perfectly in sync with one another when they harass Honeydew Inc, NotCo and all that. Like fine clockwork, they don't let you get a word in. And their bases over the years too; Crappington-Beaverend, The SipsCo Skyscraper, The Throne of Justice!

Sips and Sjin are two brilliant characters that build each other up constantly. They are there for each other, pretty much no matter what, when DS9 was destroyed, Guy was kidnapped, etc.

Take the Tekkit War for example. Sjin could have done what Rythian (again, character, not IRL person) did to SipsCo, and stayed with Sips only to get resources. He could have taken off without a trace. Sips could have done the same thing, he could alienated himself from Sjin fairly simply. Just say "I don't want to be a part of this." But they didn't. They stuck together, and for a hell of a long time, too.

We're getting into Evil!Sjin territory here as well. Here is a list of all the characters that he has ever been against in the Canon Universe.

These are pretty much all the characters that he has held contact with.

You can see that Sjin's character can be a bit of an asshole at this point. But, through all these years, Sips has never been on this list. Sjin has never had any explicitly malicious feelings towards Sips. Maybe sadness, regret, disappoint, from when he was fired from SipsCo, when they were apart. But Sips and Sjin have never held an "enemies" status with one another. I quote Spacemen, "I would never harm you! You're my best friend!"

When we get to sjipping, and sjips as a ship:

Sjips is a very well-rounded ship. There's fluff, there's angst, there's smut. There is no real imbalance in what the fandom creates.

It's a pretty healthy relationship, I imagine that they discuss things quite frequently among one another, and talk about all big decisions.

They are very supportive of one another

height differences (i know this is sort of a small factor but it's very very very cute) and the coincidence that blue and orange are complementary colors

Sad, sad, scary angst moments that I don't even want to speak of, less when sips was kidnapped and sjin sobbed at night because he missed him so much, how could he let this happen, why, why, why, how could he not see that sips was there, was sips safe, he's probably deaddddd and he killed ddhim omggggg

Very nice when translating into AUs

Headcanons for these two are even better when you put them together. Alien!Sjin and Human!Sips are interesting to pan out for me, because thinking up all this xenobiology/psychology on how everything functions within their relationship, etc

I really enjoy the idea of them being friends, then close friends, super BFFs, realizing maybe their feelings are more than friendship, being all bashful around each other when they first start dating, and now they're like this old married couple. love it. love them
