When Tim Drake is Danny Phantom but also when Tim Drake leaves Gotham
I won’t write this for some time but I also had to get this out of my brain so a grown plot bunny is born! This idea is inspired by a fic that got inspired by a tumblr post and these two fan fics so there will be a lot of similar elements. No Bat fam reconciliation
To sum it up, Tim doesn’t see himself as part of the family even with Bruce being back. He only has 1 friend, Tam, but she is more his direct line to WE business. Ra’s is more aware of him than the Waynes and that is just depressing. He also has the Lazarus Pit so Tim does research to see which would be the best way to disappear and not worry about the pits.
Enter Constantine who is getting him in trouble for sticking his nose into places that will tear him apart for fun and bring him back together to do it all over. He can’t have his fave of the Bats out of commission and Tim feels seen for the first time in a while. Constantine tries to talk him out of it once he realizes what’s going on, even offering to make Tim his apprentice despite his own fears, but Tim says he wants to live his own life the sooner the better. He’s done living for Batman and Gotham. Constantine rubs his temples but agrees after getting a promise from Tim to let him know how he is doing from time to time. Together they do the ritual that translates as seeking an audience with Nocturn of the Infinite Realms.
Meanwhile it takes a while the Bats notice Tim has been missing and it isn’t for like a day. Their searches turn up limited results because he covered his tracks. They don’t even have a timeline of his disappearance or suspects. Oracle is trying to trace any and all numbers previously associated with him. Jason is checking the Nest only to find it demolished. Dick panic dials Zatanna and when she answers he is confused. He doesn’t know why he was calling her but blames it on exhaustion. He promises to follow up as soon as he remembers why he called.
Tim sleeps and finds himself meeting Nocturn who calls him by a long title. Tim is confused by how random they are since they aren’t really relevant to his alias but Nocturn tells him what he wishes can be done. The memories of his past life will be enough compensation andTim wakes up with memories of another life. He had assumed Nocturn would take those memories, not bring them up but oh well. Constantine has a book out with a spell on his lips. Tim gives him their code word and Constantine is like I don’t know how you came back, so what’s the next step? Tim is like my dude, it’s already done :D Constantine: that explains it. Tim: Explains what? Constantine: Your phone was buzzing nonstop for a while now and stopped before you woke up. Tim: must've been scam calls Constantine: fair enough
Their chat gets interrupted by a swirling green portal opening up. Tim stands up telling Constantine his ride is here and thanks him as he steps into his best life. On the other side are Dani who glomps him and Dan who teases him for coming back shorter. He follows up with promising to make sure he has all the ecto and food a growing halfa would need before getting interrupted by Danny/Tim’s family, friends, and rogues who all came as soon as Nocturn told them about Danny coming back
Later on Gothams conspiracy blogs are saying Tim Drake confirmed as Red Robin. Maybe it gets called something like the Tim Robin effect and a small few say the universe turned left or something. They are the last ones to remember him due to their stubbornness, but the lack of records and visual evidence makes him into a local cryptid. And without anything anchoring his existence, like dreams, those people eventually forget him.
The world moves on until another big baddie comes along. One big enough for Justice League Dark to be called in. Constantine takes one look before lighting up a cigarette and saying I know a guy. He begins drawing up a circle with like a crayon or highlighter. Batman tries to stop him saying the kind of guys Constantine knows tend to be more trouble than help. Constantine says that’s why he never leaves the house without this pulls out a Gotham exclusive energy drink from his pocket It barely touches the circle when a clawed hand grabs it and pulls themselves out of the circle. Constantine just points and the eldritch being is gone with everyone looking at Constantine like wtf is that?! Constantine chuckles and says just a little birdie he knows.
Bart and Kon, back from the grave, narrow their eyes at him. The distance made them less susceptible to Nocturn turning Tim/Red Robin into a dream. When the eldritch being comes back dragging the knocked out baddie, they approach it and ask if they could be granted a private audience. Superman and Wally are shitting bricks because this is gonna turnout bad. Tim turns to Constantin who shrugs at him. Tim: ok, when you sleep tonight hold a can of my favorite coffee and we’ll meet for a bit forehead kisses for both Kon and Bart to eachother: I fucking knew it! And that is the hopeful ending where Tim gets some of his old friends once they talk and make up
This fic the reason Nocturn is the one that connect Tim to Danny and I am finding myself liking the sad trench coat man lol This other fic is more of a recommendation than inspo for the plot rabbit but also kinda similar. It's fave food for a reason am I right 😂 It has it's own inspo post too so it feels like a mini buffet
