usually I love when everyone on the dash comes together to liveblog it's fun and really makes me feel this fandom's community spirit but this stream in particular makes tonight's liveblogging feel less like a neighborhood barbecue and more of everyone gathering around outside in their pajamas because a truck carrying sonic the hedgehog merch crashed into a cybertruck and no one's quite sure what the fuck is going on anymore

"Don't hatewatch/hateplay because it still gives the company money on its product" and I fully believe and support that but I think RTGame deserves an exception for playing Metaverse simply because whatever money he spent on the game could not possibly match how much money Metaverse and its investors lost when the stocks fell by 25-30% after people saw Dan's stream and how dogshit it was. The humanity of space exploration will always make me tear up I swear. People pour in so much time and energy and resources into sending others out the farthest humans have ever been from Earth and we stay human through it all. We bring plushies to space as "official zero gravity indicators". We complain about email programs not working and thousands more back home make and share memes about it. We bring a small canvas piece from the original Wright flyer to show how far we've come. We make Wikipedia edits from space about spacewalks. We suggest naming a crater after a deceased loved one because of how brightly it shines on the moon's surface. We're silly and sentimental and resourceful and we're human. No matter how far we are from home we'll carry our humanity with us.
