Healed #magneticimplant on my fabulous colleague @free__hugs that I performed at @calmbodymodification a couple of years ago. 🖖🏻 This is a quick 2-3 minute procedure where a (in this placement) scalpel is used creating a small incision and "pocket" in the finger, implanting a biocompatible coated #magnet (a silicone coated neodymium magnet of @steve_haworth design here) in the "pocket" and then #suturing the incision with 1-3 sutures. The #sutures stay in for 7-10 days. Healing time is around 2-3 months but you're allowed to "play" with it after 4-5 weeks. So why do this? Well, here's the fun part! When healed a capsule is created around the magnet in a bundle of sensory nerves so when the magnet oscillates when it's near a #electromagneticfield (hard drives, microwave ovens etc) you will get a tingling sensation in your finger. A sort of #SixthSense so to speak. Pretty cool, huh? You can also use it to pick up small magnetic objects like bottle caps and paper clips which is pretty handy AND AN AWESOME PARTY TRICK. 😉 Won't this interfere with credit cards and cellphones? These are the most common questions and the answer is no. The magnet is not strong enough to do that, but you will be able to "feel" the magnets in your cellphone since it contains between 2-4 big strong ones. It's all fun and games until you get to the airport! Hua.. This is one of the most common "trolls" in the comments. It's not gonna show in airport security but you might feel the security arch and the search wand if you're lucky!
