It’s no surprise that SoS is the stronger of the games. The Harvest Moon tag is FILLED with people’s reasons (and some going against their reasons.)

I won’t lie. I think the art style we’ve seen for Skytree Village looks cute. I was excited for it… until I realized their rehashing the villagers again. Now, this happens in games a lot. The first HM64 had a bunch of other games with the same cast (just different jobs.) Now, they made The Lost Valley and Seeds of Memories with the same cast and that’s fine! I just personally feel that a new cast would have been great.

I really like that you can do multiple things to your crops now such as watering and tilling the fields, but the animation for some actions is still slow. I played TLV and I did enjoy it, but the animations are extremely slow and waste time. I’m talking about picking up crops, watering them, using your tools. If you’ve played Magical Melody and remember how slow their animations were, then you get the idea. TLV was worse, though.

I’ve had my own distress over Natsume (over Luke’s reveal. WHO REVEALS A CHARACTER WITH “CONCEPT ART”? IT DIDN’T LOOK COMPLETE AT ALL. LOOK AT HIS HAIR! Especially when it’s art of a bachelor you had to PAY for.) That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy The Lost Valley. However, I’m not feeling Skytree Village. The art was very cute, though, and since I’m a plush hoard if they offer a nice plush for preorder, I’d get it and give it a try

 Cause that’s what I do. Different strokes for different folks.

As for Trio of Towns, of course people are going to look forward to it. It actually IS a continuation from the company that made the games for us. I like that we have three different places to go to (similar to ToTT) and I’m excited or that. I haven’t been in touch with the news as I should be (because I like to be surprised and flail when I have NO idea what I’m doing), but I like the cast! I look forward to what we can do in the game and all the cute animals that has been offered to us.

I also like the XSEED will be taking the localization. They did well with not only Story of Seasons, but Rune Factory 4. The company has allowed things in the games that Natsume would NEVER allow. Not only that, but XSEED LISTENS to us. I remember when they were discussing Mistel’s name and how they were thinking of changing it. Instead of going through with their decision, they listened to the fandom and Mistel’s name was kept. Plus, Marian’s character in general was kept, something that would have been removed it Natsume took the game.

Thats pretty much all I have to say about the situation. If you guys want to discuss it further, feel free to reblog this! I won’t be posting asks about my opinion. If you DO have asks to send, then do so at my personal.

You are allowed to be excited for Trio of Towns

You are allowed to be excited for both

You are allowed to dislike Skytree Village

You are allowed to dislike Trio of Towns

You are allowed to dislike both

Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for what you like. Even if it’s true that these new Harvest Moon games aren’t from Marvelous, you are allowed to enjoy them. You will see some negative things about Natsume and the games in the tag for some time and this is something that can’t be stopped. Fans have strong feelings about what Natsume is doing and they are allowed to. Just keep swimming and remember that it’s okay for you to like these games.
