If you ever heard my dad describe a sunset, you never would have looked at another one the same way. He loved every single sunset like it was his last. So cinematic. Dramatic. I inherited that shit. Ten fold. And it sucks lol. It’s pervaded my existence. Contributed to a melancholy. Every memorable memory I have is washed in dramatic light. Sometimes I don’t recall anything from an experience other than the lighting. The first WORD I spoke was light 😂 It’s also why I hate noon. The most boring, least dramatic time of day. Anyway… here’s a watercolor I did a little while ago and just forgot to post. “Rabbit’s Moon”. 5”x7” on paper. I first saw this short film - by Kenneth Anger - in a “secret room” at Versailles restaurant in Miami, fittingly with the @secretcelluloidsociety 🦉 My friend played it before a showing of “White Zombie”. I was transfixed. I couldn’t tell you much else about the night other than this part of the film (maybe the food too). The Pierrot clown. The magick lantern. The moon. So cinematic. Dramatic. Melancholy.
