en : On october the 2nd, I was at Cap Sciences Bordeaux, a French public Science Center demonstrating the Mindwave Mobile :) 

I also did a demo to my friends at Motion-Twin.

As always people enjoyed dueling on Magical GNU with the MindWave Mobile.

As always I wonder why Neurosky does not do any real thing to push the Mindwave but instead choose to push external projects like the Shippo... (sic..)

you can download the Magical GNU game released for LinuxTag 2012 for free !

Please note that in order to work, the game needs 2 Mindwave Mobile headsets. But you can launch it to see what the game is all about :)

The game has been successfully tested on Ubuntu 11.04, 12.04 & Fuduntu.

Due to its HD FULL SCREEN mode, the game needs a screen resolution of 1920 * 1080 

Starting the game :

To launch the game browse to the MagicalGNU folder and type ./MagicalGNU

First arg is is the meditation level required to pop a beer (0-100)

Second arg is the game time ( 0-99 )

Third arg : if set to 1 the game will start without the MindWave Support.

ex : ./MagicalGNU ( standard )

ex : ./MagicalGNU 59 60 ( meditation : 59, time : 60 )

es : ./MagicalGNU 59 60 1 ( idem + game without headset support )

Controls :

The game was released with Wiimote support in mind so you can either

... use a Wiimote 

... or your keyboard.

Map your Wiimote to following keys : 'ESC' to exit, 'o' to start player one, 't' to start player two.

Important : as it is a highly experimental done 2 days prior to the LinuxTag it may crash for any reason. I won't do any official support / debug.

Pour faire fonctionner le jeu vous aurez besoin de 2 casques Mindwave Mobile. Cependant il est tout de même possible de lancer le jeu pour voir ce dont il retourne :)

Le jeu a été testé avec succès sur Ubuntu 11.04, 12.04 & Fuduntu.

Comme c'est un jeu créé pour un écran TV HD, vous aurez besoin d'une résolution d'écran d'au moins 1920 * 1080 

Démarrer le jeu :

Pour démarrer le jeu allez dans le répertoire MagicalGNU et tapez la commande ./MagicalGNU

Le premier argument représente le niveau de méditation requis pour créer une bière (0-100)

Le deuxième argument  est le temps de jeu  ( 0-99 )

Le troisième argument : s'il est mis à 1, il permettra de lancer le jeu sans le support des casques Mindwave.

ex : ./MagicalGNU ( standard )

es : ./MagicalGNU 59 60 1 ( idem + démarrage sans casque )

Contrôles :

Le jeu a été créé avec le support de la Wiimore à l'esprit. Aussi, vous pouvez soit

... utiliser une wiimote

... ou votre clavier

Dans tous les cas, les raccourcis claviers sont les suivants : 'ESC' pour quitter, 'o' pour démarrer le premier joueur, 't' pour démarrer le deuxième joueur.

Important : comme ce projet est très expérimental et a été réalisé 2 jours avant le LinuxTag, il peut planter à tout moment. Aucun support ou debug n'est prévu.
