Hallucinations involving shadows are really really common experience with severe sleep deprivation and basically it ranges from a base feeling that patches of shadows in the corner of your eye are slowly moving in the corner of your eye or are watching you to full blown visual hallucinations of humanoid or human-shaped shadows actually moving around (it often starts out with you being literally freaked out by your own shadow bc youre losing the ability to comprehend that its yours and not “something behind you”). It’s especially common with amphetamine users (which includes adderall ayy) because youre gonna be more ‘aware’ than someone in that state of sleep deprivation would be and it pairs nicely with the feelings of paranoia you can get
