Got interrupted by multiple technical errors when I tried to listen to TMA at work and then only got through one row of crochet at home today, so I only got through two episodes today. Nonetheless, we persist.
Lost in the crowd
- “So I asked him who the hell he was and what the hell he wanted” djdhsh okay!
- Marked? 👀
- The music getting creepier as the statement giver gets more convinced theyre going to safety… oh nooo
- “A crowd without any people in it… and I was still alone.” Goosebumps!!!
- Gerard Key AGAIN??
- I really like the sudden shift in Jonathan’s tone between the statements and the supplementals
- DID Michael make it sound like Jonathan couldn’t trust Sasha? Is Jonathan assuming that because he came in after Sasha left? Regardless it’s being added to my list of ‘proof Sasha is possessed/replaced/no longer Sasha’, which is… very short lol
- OOP Jonathan getting called out for spying on Tim and Martin lmao
- “It’s not their mental health thats under scruitiny right now” whoops
- Followed by Jonathan saying he needs to be careful if he goes back to spying on his teams homes and saying Elias is now at the top of his list of suspicious people… Jonathan please
- I really liked this episode! LOT of bangers in season 2!!! Also this is doing nothing to help my desire to go to Italy some day lol
- The concept of people being ‘marked’ is interesting. I assume it’s related to like… the way that some people seem to have experiences/encounters but not die till later, like the skydiving dude getting eaten by the sky a while after his supernatural skydiving incident, or Graham getting bodysnatched a while after buying the weird table, or Micheal Crew getting got a while after the lightning strike. Even the lady from the last episode that Michael, uh, ‘consumed’, now that I think about it. Some sort of encounter or experience ‘marks’ people and the paranormal entities come back to ‘get’ them later. Interesting…
The butchers window
- This is why divorce lawyers dont recommend cheating causes, lol
- Oh, the alcoholic ex-cop has something to say about people’s life choices. Hm.
- My dog started snoring and it took me a minute to realise it wasnt just a part of the podcast lmao
- It may have been different in the late 2000’s but both my parents work in IT and both have taken bags/laptop bags/briefcases etc to work for as long as i remember, because IT people often get their own laptops. I guess maybe my parents are selling suspicious white powder on the side though
- The ex cop also likes to blackmail drug dealers for money… fork found in kitchen.
- GERARD KEY AGAIN????!!! My guy is EVERYwhere
- The wife not caring about her lame husband dying because she might get the life insurance policy… honestly, i respect it
- I actually do know the process for legally getting declared dead without a body is a really long process. Both my grandads worked on boats (one doing Navy and then delivery work, the other doing sailing jobs) and it’s a whole Thing when boats go missing for the families of the sailors that often causes them a lot of grief and draws out the process, as well as being something of a financial issue (no insurance payout being one of the bigger issues, as the wife here is concerned about). That’s not wholly relevant but it is interesting to see it mentioned.
- Well, yes, as is famously known: if you’re doing something illegal, don’t commit any other minor crimes in the process. You don’t need the dead bodies in your boot being found because you got pulled over for a speeding ticket.
- Lmao at the horror video game logic of hiding in a locker
- Oh, ew :(
- Mouth in the floor??? Is this Gerard (Jared? Starting to think it’s not Gerard Key lol) like Michael, an extension of whatever lived in the hole?
- Ohhh no. Combining two of my fears/sources of intrusive thoughts: bones and pulling things out of skin
- “My now empty left arm hanging limply by my side” eugh
- Well at least Nicola got her payout
- Oh god the unwind vibes when he talks about feeling like his bone is still out there in someone elses arm…
- Another one that links back to an older episode, and a general concept (the meat based episodes that dont really have an explanation), and a Leitner book. I’ve been trying to figure out the connection between the books and the actual ‘creatures’ (for lack of a better term) and given this weird tunnel/mouth thing (which to me is reminiscent of Michael being connected to the tunnels behind doors) i wonder if the books are connected directly to the creatures- like, writing about them was Leitner’s way of ‘capturing’ them in some form. Except it didnt weaken them, just captured some ‘aspect’ of them that could then ‘act’ on people who read it. Might also tie in to why the true statements won’t record on the laptop… because there’s some aspect of the paranormal entities contained in any record of them and modern tech can’t handle that. Might also explain why the older statements were all written down in the first place over recorded with tape once it became available- maybe they were trying to do something similar to Leitner… either with or without realising that.
- Sasha’s computers keep breaking? Much like laptop recording equipment breaks when exposed to recordings of real statements? Because the paranormal aspects are detrimental to modern technology??? (Furiously adds notes to my ‘Sasha is no longer Sasha’ pile).
- TIM BI CONFIRMATION LETS GOOOOO
- 14 people?? :(
- Elias rose to the top very quickly and previously worked in the artefact room first… the room Sasha was scared of… maybe he was promoted because of his resilience working there? Or that somehow changed him?
- Elias might’ve changed a lot once he started working there… specifically working in the artifact room… where Sasha was (potentially) Changed… hmmmm. I was initially suspicious of Elias on the very solid grounds of ‘idk he’s an authority figure and it’s a trope’. I switched sides during the season 1 finale bc of his recording and the way he was acting. But maybe I need to switch back… maybe he was also possessed while in the artefact room…
- Wait I thought I remembered a bit about him looking at Sasha weirdly at the end of the finale when everyone got out so I checked my notes and, per my notes app:
[image ID: a screenshot of part of a bullet point list on the Iphone notes app, where the bullet point is indicated by a dash and the text reads “- Elias looking at her strangely… ohh i bet he felt guilty about running away from her when they ran into the worms.” /End ID]
- WHAT IF HE DIDNT FEEL GUILTY. WHAT IF THAT WAS IN FACT TWO CREATURES DISGUISED AS HUMANS ASSESSING EACH OTHER. WHAT IF!!!
- Anyway i actually liked this episode even though the bone stuff made me Uncomfortable. Very fun. I like the lore implications as per usual- theyre coming at us a lot faster this season, lol.
