“Quiet! Someone’s going to hear.” // “Please don’t.”
Delilah couldn’t help but snicker. She pulled away only slightly from Mae’s neck, her lips still teasingly close to her girlfriend’s exposed skin. “No one’s going to hear. You’re the one making noise.” She pointed out. Rubbing at Mae’s hips reassuringly, she murmured, “Relax...” She directed a soft smile down at her girlfriend and moved to kiss her lips tenderly. Once she felt her girlfriend relaxing into it again, Lilah let her lips trail against Mae’s jaw. She had been careful to respect Mae’s boundaries and not let herself wander too far. God, how the roles were reversed.
“Don’t?” Delilah repeated incredulously. “Mae, look what you’re doing to yourself!” She pointed at the cigarette in between Mae’s fingers. Those fingers that she had willingly let on her body without a second thought. Delilah suddenly felt sick. “You almost died!” She continued, voice levels continuing to raise as she got more and more emotional. “Do you think that you look cool? Because you don’t. You’re smarter than this, Mae. I am not going to stand here and watch you willingly destroy yourself. You were given another chance at life, and you’re seriously going to harm your body like this?” Lilah shook her head. She had felt so bad continuing with her defense training and bow and arrow and throwing knives since it made Mae uncomfortable, and yet Mae had been hiding this from her for who knew how long. “Who even are you?” She whispered brokenly. Wiping at her eyes, she muttered, “I have to get out of here.”
