There were no words for the month she’d had. After years under Hydra’s thumb, she was finally out. She’d found sanctuary, on Oline and Derek’s farm. They’d patched her up, allowed her to experience real kindness, for one of the first times in over a decade. Still, she’d largely kept her distance, stayed to herself. She would start working for them soon, if you could call their list of chores, work.
But first, she had to find the boy. Her baby too, yes, but... She had to hope he was at least somewhere safe. This boy? Last time she’d seen him, he certainly had not been. He’d been a child under Hydra, and as many things were foggy around that time, he was someone who stood out. She had to make sure he was okay.
She’d seen Hydra’s files. As far as they were aware, he was living with Winter. He’d escaped too, so... Maybe they were safe together. She wanted to see that for herself. She needed to. So Sadie had researched and travelled, and ended up at the front door.
Apprehensive, and very much on guard, she knocked.
