Microsoft Word Convert Special Characters to web ready UTF-8
This is useful if you are receiving Word docs for web copy. Often the encoding is different between programs and copying from one to paste into another can render oddities in the browser.Â

Example Mac Word:
Open the file
File > âSave Asâ
File Format: Plain Text (.txt)
Save â (File Conversion window opens)
Select âOther encodingâ radio option
Choose âUnicode (UTF-8)â
Select âAllow character substitutionâ Option
Click âOKâ
Open in text editor
