Can I combine your prompts with another event’s?

Yes! As always, you can combine with other events as long as that event also allows it.

Great question! They are not unrevealed. And yes, the suggestion is basically that people upload pretty close to the schedule. However, that is not required. There are people who are still working on prompts from last year (which is great!).

When to submit on AO3?

The “When” is tripping a few people up and I get why, it is a calendar event! The reason why we are so open is that we want people to still be able to add to the collection if their work takes longer than expected. We don’t want people to stress out if they aren’t perfectly on time. This (hopefully) creates an environment where we get longer incest works, more incest works (especially in smaller fandoms), and more satisfied creators.

Of course it is more beneficial posting on schedule. You will get to feel closer to the community by talking through prompts and post alongside other people, and posting with the same group every day. You are a part of the general event hype from readers! And, we are also planning (🤞) on posting a daily recap so you will be included in that as well! Overall, it’s more fun to post on schedule but it’s not required.

Is CCNTUAW (Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings) allowed?

We had a long discussion about this, and we asked a group of people about their thoughts too, which is why this answer took so long.

On the one hand we want you to have a lot of creative freedom, and on the other we know that just because a reader wants to read one taboo thing, doesn’t mean they want to read any taboo thing. Rule #3 also says “NSFW, other Dead Dove and dark content is welcome, but please tag them accordingly.”

What we decided on was: yes, you can use CCNTUAW. It is well known that CCNTUAW often contains dark content, and is a warning in of itself.

You also don’t have to use to use the AO3 tagging system for trigger/dead dove/nsfw/taboo warnings (if, for example, it would spoil a major plot point) HOWEVER they must appear somewhere in your work (for example in the End A/N or the beginning A/N with a dropdown). Use your best judgement as a community member for what is necessary to tag.

(Remember: Tags don’t just warn people, they draw people in.)

I am sorry, I don’t have an ETA, I’ve been trying to get through a day’s worth of requests at a time, but I did get behind when I got a migraine this week. My goal is to finish the remaining 35 cards by the end of day Sunday, but since the cards take about 20 mins each I am not 100% sure I will be able to get the full 11 hours in. If I wanted to incorporate some of last year’s prompts alongside this year’s prompts, would I be able to post it to the collection for 2025 or would I have to post it in the 2024 collection? I want to write for each day but I like some of last year’s prompts more than this year’s prompts ex. for week 2, I like last year’s prompt for day 10 but all the rest of this year’s prompts for the rest of that week, would that one fic not be included if I don’t use this year’s prompt for that day?

I don’t mind posting it to the other collection, I just don’t want to mess anything up. I am very excited about this challenge, but I feel like I’m breaking the rules if I don’t use all of this year’s prompts. 😅

First off: you are not breaking any rules by not doing every prompt! You can use as many or as few of this year’s prompts as your heart desires.

Second, I suppose it depends on how you are compiling everything. If you're doing multiple prompts in one work or doing a different fic every chapter of a work on ao3 then I would add it to both events.

If it's just one work per prompt I would add it to the corresponding year's prompts.

For springcest there is no set word count expectations! You can add to the collection at any word count.
