Got caught up doing other art. Kind of got burned out, so I tried a new expression and I guess size difference. Not thrilled, but whatever.
Are you into giants or tiny people in fiction? Do movies that involve a character growing or shrinking to an unusual size make you really happy? Do you often wish or imagine you were significantly taller or shorter than everyone else? If so, then you're in good company!
Welp, it’s official! I am now the organizer and first member of the Metro Detroit Macrophilia Enthusiasts group on Meetup.com. The page is currently completely barren, but I’m making it my mission to get things more polished and complete over time.
If you’re in the Detroit area and you’re into Giant/tiny stuff, sign up on MeetUp.com for free and then you can join the group! You can use a pseudonym as your name, so you don’t need to worry about having your real name public when you create an account.
A Giant Piece of Homework
I came out as a macrophile to my therapist today.
She’d never heard of the term, but she was able to relate a little, actually, as she's only ever dated tall men (her husband is a foot and half taller than her, and I’m extremely jealous). She’s also had some furry clients, so fetishes and out-of-the-norm interests don’t faze her.
Obviously, her preferences aren’t based in fantasy as mine are, but it’s a good bit of common ground.
After we talked for a while, she gave me homework for the next two weeks:
Look into starting a local Macro-Micro Meet Up, to try and connect with G/t enthusiasts in the Detroit area.
She recommended using MeetUp.com to start the group. There’s a $10-15 monthly charge for organizers to create and maintain groups, but that’s completely within my budget.
I’ve never organized a meetup before, so does anyone have suggestions?
Goose Island founder and Chief Executive Officer John Hall said the move (the AB acquisition) will be a boon for fans of the brewery's higher end beers, like Matilda and Bourbon County Stout. Accounting for almost half the brewery's sales, 312 has required significant resources at Goose's Fulton Street plant. With the beer's production heading east -- partially at first and likely entirely at some point -- that space can be used for other projects, Hall said.
