On May 30, 2011, I wrote a post on my blog titled 'Paramount Studios' which included a few of my memories of spending time on that movie lot. One of them concerned friend and mentor Joe Gray with whom I frequently enjoyed lunch at Oblath's listening to his stories about Hollywood, Henry Miller, Frank Sinatra (who arranged for me to have a SAG card), Dean Marin and others. Joe's nephew sent me a note and the attached photo: So nice of you to write such kind things about him and nice to know he touched some lives and was remembered. He and Henry really hit it off, they had some good times together, afternoons at the Ocampo Drive house, meals at Imperial Gardens, trips to Big Sur. Still have a couple of Henry's watercolors that Joe left me in 1971. I made a little page on Facebook for Joe and another for Mack, put up some of the photos I had. For several years I kept in touch with some of his friends, Nicky Blair, Valerie Allen but most are sadly gone now, almost all. Anyway, regards!
