Mackenzie proposes to Meena but a surprise phone call brings old feelings to the surface.

"Mack looked round the room at Rose Cottage. "Daisy would approve" he said to Meena.

"She sure would" smiled Meena.

"Right it's getting dark now so close your eyes" Mack asked Meena.

Mack went round the room and lit some candles and Fairy lights.

"Keep them tightly closed" Mack said leading Meena to the Christnas Tree.

"Open them now"

Meena opened her eyes to see Mack down on one knee.

Meena gasped "This is the most romantic thing I've ever seen. It looks like a proper fairyland, and you're my handsome prince. Look at all those hearts floating around the room."

Mack took Meena's hand.

"My beautiful Meena will you be my wife"

"As promised I will tell you tomorrow said Meena pulling Mack up and kissing him.

"I love you" whispered Mack.

"My very own handsome prince" said Meena. "I love you Mackenzie Boyd"

"Well I've got a present for my princess" Mack said passing Meena a box from under the tree.

"Meena opened the box. "A diamond neclace. Oh my it's from Cartier" gasped Meena. "Thank you so much"

"Only the best for my beautiful princess" said Mack giving Meena another kiss. "I ordered it especially and it was delivered by courier just before I picked you up, and they put in a complimentary bottle of perfume." Mack said putting the necklace on Meena.

"I'm being totally spoiled" said Meena hugging Mackenzie. And its only Christmas Eve!

Mack poured two glasses of wine. "To us" he said.

"Well I'm going up for a shower. See you in a bit my very own handsome prince" said an ecstatic Meena.

Macks phone rang as he was about to go upstairs.

Who could this be at this time its gone ten. He thought.

"Hello. Hello he said three times. Who is it"

"Mack" said a voice in barely a whisper.

Mack started shaking "Is that you Aaron" Mack anxiously asked.

"I'm so sorry for hurting you"

"Aaron where are you? asked Mack.

"I still love you and have thought about you every day since I left" said Aaron.

Mack was stunned "Please don't do this to me Arron. I'm getting engaged tomorrow and me and Meena are getting married.

"I'm sorry" Aaron said again and hung up.

"Who was that" asked Meena coming downstairs after her shower"

"Wrong number" said Mack.

"Meena I'm just popping back to Tall Trees to drop these presents off for Billy, Ellis and Ryan. Won't be long"

Mack walked all the way to the village and arrived at Tall Trees.

"Come in Mack you look frozen it's snowing. Did you walk all the way" asked Ryan "What's wrong, you look like you've been crying"

Mack sat down next to Ryan and broke his heart.

"Come on Mack what's happened" said Ryan giving Mack a glass of water. "Has Meena dumped you?"

"Aaron just rang me. He said he loved me" sobbed Mack.

"So it's true what everyone is saying that you haven't got over him. I think Chas told him about you and Meena"

"I thought I was getting over him, but he's brought it all up again"

"Do you still want to get engaged tomorrow? asked a concerned Ryan.

"Yes, I've just proposed. I've got to be strong and not let him ruin my happiness with Meena. I love her, and if I give in he'll only hurt me again" sobbed Mack.

"Well done Mack. Aaron is messed up Mack. Try and forget him, you deserve some happiness"

"What's going on" said Billy coming downstairs "has she started on you already"

"What do you mean?" asked Mack.

"Far be it for me to tell you who you can and can't have a relationship with, but believe me Meena is a control freak" said Billy. "She was vicious towards Dawn when I finished with her"

"It's not Meena Billy she truly loves me. It's Aaron he just rang me"

"You've only been with her a matter of days and you've asked her to marry you" said Billy.

"I need her Billy" said Mack.

Billy glanced at Ryan who was shaking his head as if to say drop it.

"You two have been a good friends to me and I think the world of you both. I would never have got through this if it wasn't for you. But deep down I still love him" said Mack. "My heart is breaking Billy he said he loves me. But I'm determined I won't let this come between me and Meena. It would break her heart"

"What about you're heart" Billy asked a sobbing Mackenzie.

"Cry it all out Mack and then go back to Meena" said Ryan.

"I'll give you a lift back" said Billy "you can't walk all that way, you'll freeze to death.

"Oh you're back my prince" teased Meena "Are you Ok you look like you've been crying"

"I'm OK. Just tears of joy" smiled Mack. "but I could definitely do with a cuddle.

"Gosh you're freezing cold Mackenzie. Come here"

Meena put her arms round Mack. "Its gone 12 Meena. It's Christmas Day. Happy Christmas my beautiful Meena. I love you" said Mack giving Meena a kiss.

Promise me you'll never hurt me" said Mack with a tear rolling down his cheek"

"Never!" said Meena.

Bernice: Rumour has it that you are thinking of buying into the pub, and turning it into a cocktail bar.

Mack: Yes, Bernice just trying to get hold of the funds. It's going to be very up market if all goes to plan.

Bernice: Well just remember if you want somebody front of house I'm the ideal candidate. With my people skills and your good looks what could go wrong. To be honest Chas is a bit stale if you ask me, and this is a very old mans pub. It needs somebody like us to bring it into the 21st century. The youngsters are where the money is at these days.

Charity: Did I just hear that screwball right? He wants to buy into this pub and turn it into a cocktail bar. He's really punching above his weight.

Chas: This celebrity thing has really gone to his head. And the cheek of that brass faced midin calling me stale! Well the only cocktail I'll be serving her is one with arsenic in it. Bloody Cheek.

Charity: Well you leave Mackenzie to me. I know which buttons to press, you just need to say Boo to him and he cries. He's worse than your Aaron.

Charity: Where would you like this pint Mack. Over your head or down your trousers.

Mack: Fill your boots Charity, they say beer makes you hair shine and as long as you dry me off later who am I to deny you your little pleasures.

Meena: You're buying Into the pub Mackenzie. How splendid, its about time that old hag Chas retired. And that cellar, what a wonderful place to hide bodies!

Mack: Bodies, why would you want to hide bodies Meena?.

Meena: Bodies? Did I say bodies? Silly me. I've got bodies on my brain being nurse!

Bernice: He gets sexier everyday.

Nicola: I wonder what he means by finger food. Something filthy I expect.

Bernice: Oh use your imagination Nicola, mines already working over time. He's really has got beautiful hands and very long artistic fingers.
